17 RL Royal Commission vs Catholic Church, 1:0

*WARNING* Anyone who follows the Church and who believes that priests don't fuck kids, you should stop reading.
Because I am severely pissed off at you right now.

This rant is kinda everywhere, because I wrote it in an hour, at 4 in the morning, after waking up with a nightmare of zombie priests... Yeah, I had nightmares of the news I watched. Don't judge me.
The de-capitalisation of Catholic Church is due to the fact that capitals are for a pronoun, but also a nod of respect, and note of that person's/place's importance. And right now, the church has none of my respect, and it's constant lies trashes it's self-importance.

Also, not really festive, because I'm pissed right now and can't be fucked. There's one mention of Jesus being born. But I wouldn't say it's a good mention.

Yesterday, a royal commission into the Catholic Church, and it's pleathora of pedophile priests, was finally finished. And guess what?
Turns out those hundreds, thousands of kids and people since the 1940s that said that they were touched or raped by priests... were right!
After years of saying all the stories were false, the church had to come out and admit that they were lying the whole. Fucking. Time.
As my dad said when he saw the news, "Well, this is probably the first time in hundreds of years someone's gone up again the catholic church and won."
So fucking proud of Oz right now.
But it's scary how true that is.

The commission created 409 recommendations for the church to change, to help protect children. I'm sorry, did I write that right? Yep, I did.
Four Hundred And Nine.
How the fuck did they get so wrong as to need 409 corrections to their laws and rules to stop priests fucking kids?!
Children are sacred.
That is something everyone should know. Children are children, not to be hurt, touched, raped by someone that they know, or don't know. Children are a no-go zone.
So why is it just now being realised that doing this to the kids of your church, where they should feel safe, is wrong?
According to the Bible, lying is a sin. Not deadly, sure, but a sin just the same. So why has the church been hiding it all these years?
And here are just three of the recommendations, because they were the only ones the news really told us about.

-Police checks on priests who work with kids.
Hang on, you mean that didn't happen before?!
You have to get a full police check if you want to look after kids on a summer camp for two days if you're a normal average human, and you're telling me priests, who work with kids every week, aren't checked?! Are you fucking serious?!
Hell, you get a new job working at Macca's, you have to get a police check, because kids.
And the fact that got me? "That work with kids"
So... None of the priests are crime checked? At all?
What the fuck is everyone giving those donations for if not to make sure we don't get fucking nutcases as priests? (I mean, we still do, but, you know what I mean.) It's just common sense! If people, ANY people, are working with children, they need to be checked, so things, like, oh, I don't know, pedophilia, don't happen!

-Being able to break the confessional seal.
Okay, this isn't the priests themselves being pedophiles, but if a priest hears about a pedophile in confessional.
They do that with murderers. You confess to killing someone, the priests are allowed to go, "Hold up, bud. You mean, like really dead? Like blood everwhere? Well, we gotta call the cops. Sorry dude. Shouldn't've killed anyone."
Killing another human is so bad, it's not even one of the deadly sins. Again, it's common sense. One does not kill one's own species. Animals never do unless it's territorial, and even then, they try to get the other to surrender first.
So why is it just now being realised that the priests should do that with pedos too! It should've been obvious. If someone comes to your confessional saying that they've raped their friend's daughter, how the fuck could you sit there thanking them for confessing, and then not go straight to the cops? It's a matter of the 'Children are sacred' that the church prides itself on.
"Oh, but pedophilia isn't in the Bible as a crime, therefore-"
Fuck you! Like it or not, Abraham, it's the twenty-first century, where women have the same rights as men, we don't get stoned for heresy, and we don't drown kittens when they're being bitches! Religion's rules should evolve to suit the times. And I know you hate that word, but, again, Fuck. You.
You can't use 'It isn't in the Bible' as an excuse anymore, not like you've been using it for the past thousand years. I see you working on Sundays, eating meat, wearing ripped clothing, hell, I see men with short hair and shaved faces! If you follow the Bible so religiously (Ha. Unintentional) that something that is so clearly wrong, but 'isn't in the Bible,' means it is right, then you need to throw away your razors and cancel your monthly barber appointment, you hypocrite.

-Voluntary celibacy.
For those who don't know, celibacy (not having sex) is compulsory for priesthood in catholicism. It has been ever since Jesus opened his fucking idiotic baby mouth and started to scream. It has never been changed to voluntary celibacy (They've only just welcomed married priests, who it is totally cancelled for, and women celebrants to the party).
So for the commission to ask the church to change that to voluntary celibacy... Does that mean they found evidence that just because priests were banned from sex, they assaulted KIDS instead?!
Like, I'm sorry. You can't have man-to-woman sex, because you're a celibate priest, but fingerfucking little kids is absolutely fine. It's not like it's the same, or a fuckload worse than normal sex, anyway.

And these are just recommendations, which means the church can go, "Nope, don't like that one, or that one, or that one. Fuck it, we just won't do any of them!"
So potentially... It could be that, after five years, thousands of dollars and heaps of victims going, "Yes, it did happen to me, and we should change it so it doesn't happen to others," NOTHING WILL CHANGE!
Get off your high fucking holy horse and get with the program.
We want our kids to be safe, and you, who profess to be God's chosen ones, don't want to do anything to protect them from yourselves because you believe you're somehow immune to getting punished?
You're going to Hell if ignoring it and hoping it'll go away is the only thing you're going to do about this.
Because trust me, it won't. And it never will. Just like the witch burnings, this is in your history now.
