*SPOILER* All of it, really. The manga's finished after all.
Except all Alveraz stuff is at the bottom of the chapter. I'll give you warning, don't worry. I'm not that cruel. In celebration of the first anniversary of Fairy Tail's last chapter, here is a chapter of annoyances I have with this show/manga.
#FairyTailDay2018I really love Fairy Tail. It is one of my favourite anime, and manga. The characters you meet are so real, and the backstories behind them are so detailed, and the story is laced with humour, seriousness, romance and comraderie. ("We are Fairy Tail! We are Nakama!")
+€_Nakama! No Kuma! Never Say No To Panda!~{^
Shut it! Why couldn't you have kept away? (Sorry China.)
*Cough* Anyway-
I love it. There's just some things that annoy me with it.Is it just me, or has the quality of Mashima's work gone down ever since he started the Festival of the Dragon King arc?
We have been told that he struggled with the amount of characters in the FDK-that's apparently why most of the fight scenes between anyone other than FT had been short. Ok, so all he has to do is keep the arcs small...
So what did he do for the Alveraz arc... Brings everyone in to help fight. Seem familar? And the arcs were getting longer as the story went on.
The first 100 chapters have nearly 5 arcs. Then 100-300 is basically 3 arcs. And finally, Alveraz is nearly 100 chapters by itself!
*Sigh* I miss the simpler times. Why did you make Wendy's hair grow back in Tartarus? She cut her hair for a reason-that she wasn't afraid to do what she had to do to save her friends, including dying.
Luckily, Mest got her out before that happened, but still. That was a damn good reason for cutting her hair, and yet it got fixed within like, 2 chapters. Was it really worth it, Mashima? Seriously?
And I know that lots of people liked the long-haired Wendy, but we would've gotten used to short-haired sooner or later! (Kinda sound like I'm talking about dogs-Long-haired poodle, short-haired staffy.)One thing I did notice after reading FDK arc for the second time: both of the Uls sacrificed themselves for Gray. Ul died (I say die, and you might say 'But she didn't die! She still lives on as water!' Yes, but she still left, didn't she?) to protect Gray from Deliora. And to "seal away your darkness." Ultear used the rest of her time to save Gray from getting stabbed.
And on that note: I bet the American scriptwriters were pissed when it turned out that Ultear was named for Ul, not just her daughter. 'But we've been calling her Ur this whole time! Fuck!'As I mentioned above: the English names.
This goes mostly for the anime, not manga. The manga is actually pretty consistent between different translators and editors. But the official Funamation Dub has some of the names fucked up.
Ul vs Ur.
Cheria turned into Shelia. To me, that seems way too close to Sherry. They're cousins, not sisters. There's no way they'd be naming cousins similarly.
Asca. How the fuck did Asuka turn into Asca? That doesn't even sound like a real name, just like someone forgot the put a N in front of a car race. Nascar. Asca isn't even a fucking name! Besides, there actually was an VA named Asuka-Asuka Ôgame (one of the girls in an 2009 episode), so we know Asuka is an valid Japanese name! Why didn't you use it?!And the little suffixes of the Japanese version... Most of them disappear from the EngDub. But really, they made the show. It was so fun to copy them, and yet EngDub watchers will never know what you're on about when you yell out "Moshi Moshi!" when saying goodbye to them.
Most noticable ones:
Cancer's "Ebi". In the EngDub it got turned into "Baby". That makes no sense! At least Ebi made a little sense (or more an inside joke because Ebi means Shrimp, but still). Baby makes no sense at all.
Saggitarus' "Moshi moshi". It got turned into "yes, sirie," along with other weird comments. It just makes him seem strange.
Pumpkin-Head Mabo's "Kabo" Totally missing. Sure it got annoying, but it was funny anyway.
