Chapter 28

Aiden's POV

I got a little lost, but after five minutes, and a lot of frantic texting with Preston, I finally found them and headed over. Preston being the first to pull me into a hug, Landon giving me a glare.

Rob: "Landon cut it out you can't be protective anymore."

Lachlan: "He will be no matter what though. And I don't think you could possibly talk him out of that."

I looked around and noticed a few faces I hadn't seen yet but had heard of... So that's what Ryan looks like."

Aiden: "So that's what Ryan looks like."

Ryan: "Granted I'm more friends with Landon, Michael and Kaila here. Mainly the latter two but still."

Landon: "We still talk."

Kaila: "Not as often as you use to... Michael get off your phone."

Michael: "Hang on. Right whats going on? Oh hey Aiden."

He seems special... Very special.

Jerome: "Come on Micky I'm not that enthralling."

Michael: "Hands up who thinks Jerome doesn't know what he just said?"

I couldn't help but put my hand up. As did everyone else around us before we just laughed.

Jerome: "You guys are cruel."

Jay: "Don't hit on my boyfriend and we might catch you a break."

Rob: "Speaking of, Aiden you haven't met these guys properly."

They properly introduced the two for me and I found Kaila was from out of state finishing studies here after moving out two years ago and in with friends to help their friend out of an abusive relationship with their parents. What a fucking legend.

Aiden: "I can't say I'm not impressed but do you ever miss home?"

Kaila: "Oh absolutely, but since meeting Rob I'd say those feelings have died a bit more. And with us both aiming to get into the same college next year, it's just spurred that drive into overdrive."

Michael rolled his eyes before turning back to his phone, what's so fucking special?

Jay: "Be careful Aiden's at the epicenter of it all."

Michael: "I'll keep that in mind."

Landon: "What are you even doing?"

Michael: "Sister wants me to sing at a show at school next week."

Kaila: "YES!"

Landon: "You have to."

Michael: "I'm good. Anyway I need to go check some stuff out for later, I'll catch up another time sorry, nice to meet you Aiden."

I watched him stand up and check his phone before running off quickly, ducking in and out behind and in front of people, somehow managing to not knock anyone over. I turned back to see Jay bite the bottom of his lip as he watched him run off. Turning back and letting out a deep sigh.

Lachlan: "He'll be right."

Jay: "I just worry."

Ryan: "We all do."

Kaila: "Anyway, Aiden you decided to join us?"

Aiden: "Yeah why not. It got me out of the house and all that. But I guess I don't really know,i just wanted something to do really."

Lachlan: "You have money on you?"

Callum: "He has a credit card on him at all times. Stole it from his parents as a way to get back at them. And don't worry, they don't pay attention or care."
