“Come on!” the Doctor groaned, wanting you to hurry.

You chuckled at his lack of patience and walked over to him.

“Okay, okay,” you smiled.

“Finally!” he said, grabbing your hand.

He yanked on it and dragged you out of the TARDIS and into a field. You were on another planet, that you knew. But it was beautiful.

Earlier, the Doctor told you he wanted to do something special with you to mark the year that you had been there. You had watched him go from a lonely and dangerous man and turn into a compassionate and happy one. You knew you had comforted him and helped him. he called it saving him.

When you asked where you were going to go, he merely said somewhere special. That it was a surprise. He knew how much you hated surprises, so he merely laughed at your expression.

He promised it would be a good surprise and you believed him. You always believed the Doctor. He had always been there for you and you were always there for him. You had grown close.

You had feelings for the Doctor, but you were too scared to say anything. You knew he wouldn’t abandon you on some planet. But that didn’t dismiss your fear of something bad happening if you told him.

And now you were in a beautiful field and it seemed surreal. It was like a dream. it was romantic and you wished that he liked you back. But you knew he couldn’t. He was a Time Lord and you were human.

You snapped back into reality and gave the Doctor a smile.

“It’s beautiful!” you said.

“Isn’t it, Y/N?” he grinned, looking around.

There was a blanket set up with a basket on it.

“A picnic?” you asked.

He nodded and looked at you.

“Do you mind?” he asked.

“Not at all! It’s wonderful,” you assured him.

The Doctor picked you up bridal style and sat you down on the blanket. He sat in front of you and you both had a great conversation about your adventures so far. You both laughed until your sides hurt. And while you were sitting there with the Doctor, you realized how right it felt. How perfect it was. You wished it could last forever. But you knew that just like everything else that was good, it would eventually come to an end.

You were snapped out of you thoughts by a rumbling noise. You looked at the Doctor and you could tell he heard it too because he was looking around. Then he looked back at you.

“Well?” you asked.

“Well what?” he responded.

“What was that noise?” you replied.

“I didn’t hear a noise,” he said.

You were about to say something when you were cut off by the sounds of drum and marching feet.

“Did you not hear that?” you asked, sarcastically.

The Doctor groaned.

“Do we have to check it out or can we leave it?” he whined.

“Doctor, usually you’re the first to want to investigate. What’s wrong?” you questioned.

“Nothing,” he said, quickly.

He jumped up and sped off in one direction. You followed him quickly.

You stepped out of the field to see a desert like stated and there was only one broken up shack, but it seemed protected. You were so far from the TARDIS that the Doctor couldn’t do a scan of anything. Then you looked over and saw some horrifying people charging at you.

“Doctor!” you shrieked.

He looked where you were and he pushed you into the shack. You both crouched down and discussed the kind of creatures they could be.

“Alien barbarians!” the Doctor shouted.

There was an object thrown in front of you and you looked at it in fear. A bomb. You grabbed the Doctor’s hand and ran outside just before it blew up. You both hid behind a pile of rocks. You opened your mouth to speak when you noticed the Doctor’s eyes widen and felt something rip through your back and push outward through your stomach. You looked behind you to see one of the alien barbarians holding a knife. You put your hand to your stomach wood and felt the blood seep through your fingers.

You fell and the Doctor caught you.

“No!” he screamed.

He lifted you up again and ran passed the warriors and back to the TARDIS. He laid you onto the floor and held you close.

“Don’t go. I don’t want you to go. I… I love you, Y/N,” he said, with tears slipping down his face.

“I love you too, Doctor,” you whispered.

You felt yourself slipping. Just as you drew your last breath, you watched the TARDIS come to life. You died and the heart of the TARDIS opened. You were filled with it’s life and it returned back to it’s hidden place. The Doctor was in shock. You gasped and woke up a few seconds later.

“Just like Jack,” he said.

You knew the story of the immortal Captain Jack Harkness.

You were like him now.

The Doctor kissed you passionately, hugging you close.

“Never leave me,” he said.

“Never,” you promised.
