You were Harry Potter’s little sister and you were entering your first year at Hogwarts. You had been sorted into Gryffindor and welcomed with open arms.
As your first official day began, your brother began to show you off. As he introduced you to a sweet hufflepuff, he pulled you to a stop.
“What is it, Harry?” you asked your brother.
“Hello Potter,” a pinched voice said.
You turned to see a blonde boy staring down the two of you. He had two other boys behind him. Hermione and Ron stood behind your brother and you were confused as to what was going on.
Then you noticed that the boys were from Slytherin house.
“Who is this?” the boy asked, referring to you.
“I have a mouth of my own, you know,” you said, speaking up, “And I’m Y/N Potter. WHo do I have the displeasure of meeting?”
“And what a pretty mouth it is,” he winked, “And my name is Draco Malfoy. Why don’t you leave your little brother there and come with me?”
“I’d choose my brother over you any day,” you scoffed.
Malfoy gave you a little smirk.
“We’ll see about that,” he said.
And with that, he was off.
It went like that for your first three years at Hogwarts, which was his fourth year. He would follow you around. He would hit on you. He would send you presents. He would write you constant letters.
You didn’t understand why.
In your third year, you realized you had fallen for him too. So on the last night before you had to leave for Summer break, you kissed him. He kissed back. It went like that until you had to return to your houses.
Over that break he would send you love letters and the sweetest poems.
But on the day before you had to return to Hogwarts for your fourth year and his fifth, he told you that you two could never be. You were heartbroken. Your brother couldn’t understand why you were sad all day.
At the station, you sucked up your emotions. Malfoy cornered you in a booth.
“You have to understand,” he said, “It was between you and Pansy.”
“And you picked Pansy. I get it,” you said.
You slipped passed him and walked away. You got into the booth with your brother and his friends. You stared out the window until you got to Hogwarts.
Your whole fourth year was spent avoiding the heart wrenching sight of Draco and Pansy together. Eventually, your brother and his friends had discovered what had happened and they took care of you. Because of them, you were smiling again. And you had met a really nice Ravenclaw who was interested in you. And while your heart yearned for Draco, you decided to give him a chance.
That summer break, Draco began writing you sweet things again. He had broken up with Pansy and decided that he wanted you after all. After a week of letters, you responded that you wanted nothing to do with him. The letters continued but instead of reading them, you burned them.
Your fifth year, and his sixth, was spent with him flirting aimlessly with you. You tried to distract yourself with you brother and his friends and the Ravenclaw boy, but he always found a way to come up to you.
One day, you were giggling with the Ravenclaw boy and making jokes about Snape while leaning against a tree. He grabbed your hand sweetly, which caught Draco’s attention and caused him to walk over to you.
Draco shoved the Ravenclaw out of his way and gave you a smirk.
“Hey Y/N, let me Slytherin your Gryffindor,” he winked.
You had reached your breaking point.
“I have had it with you, you weasel!” you shouted, jumping up with your wand in hand.
You shouted an incantation, turning Draco into a weasel.
The whole school gathered around and shrieked with laughter.
You had had enough of the attention and turned him back.
Draco glanced at the surrounding crowd and smirked at you. He wrapped an arm around you waist and pulled you close, kissing you. You were surprised, but kissed back.
“Malfoy, off my sister!” your brother shouted.
Draco pulled away, but you just pulled his lips back to yours.
The crowd dispersed and McGonagall and Snape were easily seen walking towards you both.
It was worth it.
