Cause I see the stars in the freckles on her face,
And I'm seein' God every time she says my name.
The Doctor watched the girl as she learned the controls of the TARDIS.
He was preoccupied with couting the freckles that lined her face.
It was as if she was surrounded by Angels.
His heart fluttered against his chest as she softly said his name. He snapped back to attention and gave her a shy smile.
Oh, what this girl did to him.
So mother Mary, pray for me,
Without her I'm so lost,
Her love is my religion.
The Doctor recalled when she went home for a week.
He stood in the TARDIS, parked a block away the whole time.
He couldn’t find it in himself to go on an adventure without her.
His hearts remained in her hands.
But she didn’t even know.
Some have their crosses and their golden gates.
Well she is the grace I wear when I lose my faith.
The Doctor had a bad habit of blaming himself when things went wrong.
And he also lost hope each time he did.
She would look him in the eyes and give him the best smile and tell her she believed in him.
That would boost the Doctor’s spirits and he would get right back to work.
The Doctor truly believed he could do anything with her by his side.
We only talked until believe,
The words we say before we sleep.
He often watched her drift off.
Every so often, he would see her twist around and smile, softly whispering his name.
One time he heard her say she loved him.
But when she woke up, he abandoned the thought and hid his feelings from her.
When would he let the show?
Close my eyes and she's my dream,
She's the truth inside the world of lies.
Keeping all my hope alive,
Never going to say goodbye.
The Doctor dreamed of kissing her and holding her in his arms.
He was his only anchor and she kept him from hurting himself or anyone else.
The Doctor couldn’t deny his feelings for her any longer.
He walked right up to her and spun her around, pressing her lips to his. She returned the kiss and The Doctor deepened it.
He would be holding onto her forever.
