You never know
Quite how precious something is
Until you're just about to lose it,
Or its already lost
And you can anything but rest easy
Knowing that no one else will ever know
Quite what you feel like,
And you can never
Quite know what to watch out for
To make absolutely certain
That what you treasure is safe,
And you never know if it's
Quite enough
Until after it is,
Or until it isn't,
And it's too late,
And it wasn't
Quite good enough
And you weren't
Quite smart enough
And it didn't last
Quite long enough,
Because nothing ever can,
And nothing ever does,
And nothing ever will.
Never
Quite
Enough.
