1956: A Kennedy Story

Chapter 50

March 21, 1956 12:00PM

Jackie anxiously paced outside her and her husband's room. Bella was on the ground with her bunny for once, she was hugging it tightly and watching her mother with keen intrest and oddly enough, worry.

Jackie sat down on the ground next to her daughter for a moment. She put her head in her hands and sat there.

Suddenly she felt something warm slide inbetween the gap between her arms and her legs.

Jackie peered down at the brown blob and saw it. It was Bella's bunny.

Jackie smiled small to herself before she brought her head out and hoisted Bella onto her lap and handed her the bunny back.

Jackie sighed and leaned her head against the wall. If she knew what she was getting into when she married Jack Kennedy...

Jackie knew though she'd do it again without a single hesitation. Jack had health problems that scared Jackie beyond words. Jackie brought Bella close and put her chin on her daughter's head and thought.

12:30PM March 21, 1956

About thirty minutes after Jackie stopped pacing, a man in a white coat stepped out of her husband's room.

Jackie looked up and tried to interpret what the doctor was going to say.

The Doctor cleared his throat and sat across from Jackie, he leaned forward with his chin on one hand, on his knee.

"Judging by the information you gave me, and my studies on the Senator, Mrs. Kennedy, it seems as though your husband caught the plague that was going around Conneticut. His fever will rise higher than it was at sometime tommorow, you must be there to lower his tempature or the Senator WILL die."
