"Eunice." Jackie said in relief.
"Who else?" she grinned.
Jackie's sister in law stepped in, shortly followed by a short, wobbly walking toddler.
"Hi Bobby." Jackie said with a small smile.
"Hi Aunta Jacka" Bobby said with a lopsided grin.
Sargent walked in with one year old Maria awkwardly in his arms.
Eunice laughed from behind Jackie and stepped forward to take Maria from Sargent.
Sargent laughed quietly at himself and made a nervous sort of grin.
"Come in, here I'll... I'll make you some tea." Jackie said nervously.
Eunice nodded and said,"I'll help."
The two women went into the kitchen.
"I read the times" Eunice said as soon as they entered the room.
Jackie sighed,"Who hasn't."
"Jackie I know you didn't do anything. I know Ted has fancied you for a long time, since you and Jack were dating. I also know that neither you or Jack knew." Eunice said.
Jackie nodded, she wanted to say "thank you" but her throat was so tight that if she opened it to talk she would cry once more.
After a few moments, when the two women started making tea, Jackie croaked out,"Thanks."
Eunice patted her on the back.
Jackie wiped her watery eyes and the two women exited the kitchen with the tea on a tray.
"Here Sargent, just the way you like it." Eunice said, kissing her husband on the cheek.
"Thank you dear." Sargent said, the two rubbed noses.
Jackie felt a fierce longing for Jack at that moment.
Jackie drank her black tea without sugar. She usually couldn't stand the stuff, but she just had to drink it, she drank it whenever she felt absolutely terrible which had only happened twice in her life.
