1956: A Kennedy Story

Chapter 19

March 7, 1956

A bright flash shone and a young man and two month year old baby were engulfed in the flash. The baby attempted to use it's chubby fists to block out the light but it wasn't working.

The man smiled at the camera while attempting to console the child, though, again it wasn't working.

Three more flashes went off before Jackie was finsished taking pictures, and by that time Bella was on the verge of tears.

Jack bounced her up and down while looking at Jackie with a face that wa full of desperation, he mouthed "What do I do?"
Jackie stifled a laugh before she took Bella from him and calmed her.

Jackie knew one thing her husband didn't, how to take care of crying babies. But he would learn.

Jack grinned stupidly at Jackie, Jackie nearly laughed but the laugh was replaced by a large smile instead.

Jack took a seat in an armchair, Jackie sat in the chair in front of him, she could tell Jack had something to ask.

"Well." Jack said.

"Well what?" Jackie asked.

"Well, Mrs. Kennedy, I was wondering if my favorite wife and child wanted to go to New York with me."

Jackie stared at him.

"Don't you have work? I thought you were building your reputation back up?"

Jack sheepishly scratched his neck and said,"Well, it is for a buisness trip, but I'd have plenty of free time and you always say you want to go back. Perhaps you could even visit your mother and if Lee lives there still her."

"Well of course I'll go Jack! I'm sure Bella would like to meet her grandmother, even though I don't want to." she said the last bit darkly.

Jack laughed,"Well that's good because I booked a room for us and reserved us spots at several restraunts."

Jackie set Bella down and wrapped her arms around Jack's neck, and Jack twirled her around in a circle before they landed, laughing on the couch.
