Jackie was engrossed in the novel, she was still reading out loud even though Bella had long since fallen asleep she hadn't noticed, too fascinated.
She didn't even realize Jack was home because she was reaching the end of the novel and was hooked and in doubt, Yeller couldn't have it. He couldn't!
Jackie felt the book being pryed out of her hands and she looked up to glare at whoever it was but stopped and sighed when she realized it was Jack, his eyebrows raised.
"Who are you reading to?" he asked.
Jackie rolled her eyes,"I was reading to Bella, can I have my book back?" she reached for it.
Jack held it over his head,"Bella's asleep."
"No she isn't- Oh." Jackie muttered.
Jack laughed and handed the book back to her,"I'll order pizza then."
Jackie rolled her eyes,"Sure."
And with that she returned to her book.
