Chapter 16: What a day

''Okay Rebecca and Matthew are up. Teresa is on deck.'' Mr. Patterson said.

My heart started beating out of my chest, I was super nervous but Matthew said I'll be fine. We mad it to the front of the room, my heart was beating out of my ears now.  I could do this...

''What is money? Can money buy happiness and life? Or course not we all know this.'' I said with a confident and powerful voice.

''Now a days people think money makes them happy but really it doesn't...you could be the richest person on earth and still be unhappy. You could have a two story mansion, 4 cars and an indoor swimming pool. All of that still wouldn't matter..'' I felt good to say the speech...It was like I was finally opening up to the world like things were getting better.

Matthew delivered his part of the speech and everyone had thier attention on us because our voices were just so powerful and strong. We completed our speech and Mr. Patterson was impressed. Everyone clapped in unison, I felt this rush in our body. After that the bell rang....

Matthew and I were the first ones out. He hugged me tightly, picking me up and spinning around.

''You were so great!'' He said putting me down, smiling.

''Come on, don't give me all the credit.You were great too.'' I said. 

''We should go somewhere after school, this calls for a celebration.'' He said.

''Okay sounds good, see ya later.'' I said poking him.

''Bye'' He said with a big cheese on his face. I made my way to my Information Tech class, I was so happy right now, that was such a great achievement for me. I walked in and took a seat. The teacher hasn't come yet but a few students are here. I decided to take out my phone and play my favorite game. Someone sat down infront of me...it was...Elijah. 

''Hi Becca.'' He said with a smile.

''Hello..'' I said forcing a small smile.

''I didn't know I had any classes with you.'' He said.

''Me neither..'' I said looking around.

''I really like your dress by the way it fits your body perfectly... '' He said looking at me.

''Thank you.." I said. 

The teacher finally came in and sat down at her desk. 

''Okay settle down please.'' I said.

''Okay everybody pick a partner ,we are going to do a group assignment for photoshop which is worth is 2 grades.'' She said passing out the assignment.

''Want to be my partner?''' He said.

''Uh, sure.'' I said.

''Okay everyone make your way to the computers each partner has thier own computer.'' She said.

I got up and made my way to the computer and so did Elijah. His colon was pretty strong and so was that after shave of his. Ms. Holland began to explain the instructions to us and how to use photoshop.

I go on photoshop and begin looking for the items typed on the sheet.

''I found one..smart paint brush.'' I said. Elijah nodded and wrote it down on the paper.

''So..what brings you to Cornell?'' I asked.

''I transferred from UCLA, the engineering program is way more better and advanced than the one they have.'' He said.
