Evangeline opened her bedroom door and was met with the soothing darkness. It appeared that everyone else had gone to sleep, and for that she was thankful. Slipping down the stairs, she went into the kitchen to get something to drink. After reaching the refrigerator, she pulled out a blood bag and poured herself a cup. It had been at least a day since she had last had an actual meal. As Evangeline made her way back up to her room, she jumped as Klaus stood on the bottom of the stairs, his eyes glaring daggers at her.
"What do you want, Niklaus?" Evangeline asked, just wanting to get back upstairs to go to sleep.
"You lied to my family. You lied to me. How dare you?!" He snarled, backing her up against the front door.
"What are you talking about? I didn't lie to anyone."
"You lied about who you are! You may be Céleste's daughter, but that also means that you've been bred to hate us." Klaus growled, and Evangeline slipped under his arm and walked up the first few steps of the stairs.
"I'm not sure what you're getting at, but I honestly don't want to deal with it." Evangeline spoke flatly. "I just want to go back to bed."
"You're working with Marcel."
"What?" Evangeline nearly laughed. "Where did you get that insane idea? I want to be rid of Marcel just as much as your family."
"What does he have over you?" Klaus grilled, stalking up closer. "Did he have to bribe you into spying on us, or are you doing it for your own pleasure?"
"Spying on you? Niklaus, you're being paranoid."
"How dare you betray my family like that!" He yelled loudly. "You think you can just come in here and woo my siblings into loving you? You think you can just weasel your way into my family and when the time comes, you'll break us apart? You may have everyone else fooled, but I'm not so easily manipulated. I know what you're planning."
"Go to hell, Niklaus." Evangeline snapped, splashing the remainder of her drink across his shirt.
She didn't wait for his response, but instead, headed the rest of the way up the stairs. A yelp escaped from her lips when a strong hand grasped her wrist and flung her across the room. Evangeline's body impacted with the cabinet in the living room, the corner digging deep into her back. She let out an angry hiss, pushing her palms against the floor in order to lift herself back up. As she made her way to stand, Klaus towered over her, his shirt stained red with blood.
"What?" She taunted, desperately trying to refrain from getting up and ripping his head off. "You didn't want to wear the rest of my dinner?"
Klaus let out a ferocious snarl, lunging towards her. Luckily, Evangeline saw his move before he even made it, dodging to the side and slipping towards the front door. Opening it quickly, she moved to the side again as Klaus came at her. He ran straight onto the porch, but stopped and turned around with a menacing glare.
