"Well this is amusing." Klaus chuckled, leaning back in his chair to grab a bottle of whisky from the shelf behind him and popping open the top, taking a long sip. "One hour and you're already infatuated with the girl."

"Niklaus, I prefer not to talk to you when you are drinking." Elijah sighed, walking into the living room to stand next to Kol. "Your mind tends to spirt thoughts from your head without directly thinking them through."

"Oh, come now, Elijah." Kol chuckled. "I may not have been around to meet the great and beautiful Céleste, but from the pictures I've seen, that girl seems to be a spitting image of her mother. Don't deny that you find her even the least bit attractive. I know I do."

"Evangeline is but a child. I do not wish to discuss her in that particular way with anyone, especially you." Elijah rolled his eyes, seating himself on the couch behind Kol.

"You're always so noble, brother." Klaus chuckled, taking another sip of his whisky. "But we've known you long enough to know when you're infatuated."

Elijah quickly nabbed the whisky bottle from the hybrid, who was just about to take another sip, and placed it on the coffee table out of his reach.

"Oh, come on, Elijah. Don't get testy on us, now." Kol grinned.

"I've had enough with your jabs, brothers." Elijah growled. "I want to know what Marcel wants with her, and what purpose he plans to use her for."

"Marcel is a bloody control freak." Rebekah commented, coming back into the living room with Evangeline and Freya by her side. "There's no doubt he wants Evangeline as leverage."

"But leverage against what?" Kol asked.

"More like who." Rebekah replied. "Evangeline, tell them what you told Freya and I in the kitchen."

Evangeline slowly stepped forwards, her eyes scanning the room, meeting the gaze of each sibling before settling on Elijah, whose gentle brown eyes got her to finally speak.

"Marcel is gathering an army, and a powerful one at that. It appears that every few months, he rounds up twenty humans, ones that are stronger than most, and puts them to the test. He eventually kills them all and only the strongest ones make it back to life. From what I can tell, he's been doing this for some time, and by now, he's got an enormous army."

"He's preparing for battle." Klaus spoke, shifting uncomfortably in his chair.

"Exactly." Rebekah nodded, urging Evangeline on.

"When he turned me, he had no idea I was a witch. He lets the newest members of his men walk around freely, so I was able to slip away without being seen. But, soon enough, a few days passed and Marcel tracked me down. He cornered me with his two men, Diego and Thierry, and the only way for me to defend myself against him was to use my magic. I was able to hold off his vampires that were waiting for me for awhile, but they overwhelmed me in size and I couldn't keep them at bay. When Marcel knew I was a witch, he went on about his witch friend who died and how I would be perfect to replace her. But what I think might be the most interesting part of my entire encounter with him was when he told me that he need top notch warriors that were able to go up against the 'meanest, nastiest, creatures in the world'. At first I didn't know who the hell he was talking about until his man, Diego, mentioned something about Marcel being stronger than an original, which he quickly tried to cover up when I asked him about it."

"You're Marcel's protection against us." Elijah spoke the one thought everyone else was thinking.

"Freya felt out Evangeline's magic in the kitchen and to say she's powerful is an understatement. Think about it! She took on an entire army of vampires and held them off almost as long as one of us could've." Rebekah cut in. "And if she's anything like her mother, she knows her way around her magic. There's no doubt that Marcel is on the lookout for the girl as we speak. He wants to make sure his secret weapon doesn't fall into the wrong hands before he has a chance to use it against us."

"He was already attempting to use my power the first day I was held in the compound." Evangeline whispered. "He was avidly set upon me putting up a protection spell, to which I refused."

"Now you're gone and he has nothing but his men to protect him." Kol chuckled. "Poor bastard."

"Evangeline, I want you to stay here with Rebekah, Freya, and Kol. You will be safe as long as you're within these four walls with my siblings. I promise we will not let anyone harm you, nor will we give you a reason to fear us." Elijah stood in front of Evangeline, locking eye contact with her before he turned to the hybrid sulking in the corner. "Niklaus and I will go into New Orleans to pay Marcel a little visit. I am curious as to how desperate he is to get Evangeline back. Then we will know how much of an advantage we now hold over him."

"Be safe, Elijah." Rebekah set her hand on his shoulder. "If Marcel has formed an army like Evangeline said, they will be guarding him. I don't want you or Nik getting caught in the crossfire."

"We can handle ourselves, little sister." Klaus spoke, rising from his seat with a quick glance Elijah.

"Niklaus and I will leave in the morning." Elijah stated. "As for now, let's help make Evangeline feel at home and get her settled in."
