As Evangeline began to talk, the Mikaelsons slowly trickled out of the room. Klaus took Hope out into the backyard to play with Kol, while Rebekah and Freya hid in the kitchen. Elijah sat beside his sisters, trying not to listen in, but not being able to help himself. He wanted Evangeline to be able to bond with Hayley, given their previous meeting, and he had hoped, alongside Freya and Rebekah, that the two would connect in relation to motherhood.
After an hour of listening in, learning quickly that the two grew to find quite a lot to talk about, Elijah grew bored of the feminine details of pregnancy and left his sisters to join Klaus and Kol in the backyard. As he slipped out the patio door, Rebekah and Freya watched Elijah with smiles on their faces.
"I'm glad he made up with Evangeline." Freya whispered as she sipped on her second cup of tea. "I was beginning to worry he would continue to push her away."
"You and I both." Rebekah chuckled. "But Evangeline is a fighter. Something tells me she wouldn't have let him doing that for much longer."
"You're probably right." Freya laughed, turning to look in the direction of the living room. "Can you hear what they're saying?"
Rebekah smiled, nodding her head. "They've becomes fast friends. It appears that motherhood has bonded them in the way we had all hoped."
"You do realize we can hear you guys, right?" Hayley called as she and Evangeline entered from the hallway.
"I've been alive for a thousand years." Rebekah grinned. "If I didn't want you to know I was listening in, you wouldn't have."
"Well you don't need to worry." Hayley gave her a warm smile. "Evangeline and I have reached common ground."
"Good, because I can't have any more of my siblings, in-laws or not, squabbling anymore. It's exhausting. This vampire needs her beauty sleep."
"You're immortal, Bex." Kol laughed as he entered the kitchen beside his brothers and niece. "You don't need beauty sleep."
"Like that's going to stop her from complaining that she does." Klaus smirked, ducking back as Rebekah swung an arm around to slap him.
As Hope left Klaus' side and ran to Hayley, she instantly noticed Evangeline, happily running up to her.
"Hi." Hope grinned as Evangeline squatted down to her height.
"Hi, Hope." Evangeline smiled warmly. "It's lovely to see you again."
"You look different." Hope commented, placing her small hands on Evangeline's stomach. "Do you have a baby in there?"
