Evangeline awoke to the sound of the front door unlocking. Shifting underneath the blankets, she tried her best not to wake up Rebekah and Freya who were asleep on the couch beside her. Somehow last night, they had talked until the earliest hours of the morning, eventually falling asleep on top of one another. Leaving the blanket on the couch for the sisters, Evangeline grabbed a smaller one from off the fireplace, instantly wrapping it around herself as she went to greet whoever had walked in the door. As she rounded the corner, she nearly plowed into Kol, who gave her a lopsided grin as she jumped back, startled.

"Hey there, cutie." He teased, reaching up to ruffle her messy bed hair. "How was your girl's day? I take it was a success?"

"It was a lot of fun."

"Did you and the she-devil make up?"

"Kol." Evangeline sighed, playfully swatting his arm. "Rebekah may drive us all crazy, but she's still your sister. And to answer your question, yes we did."

"Well it's about time." Klaus grumbled, walking into the house. "I was quite done with the two of you playing your petty silent treatment game."

Evangeline opened her mouth to speak, but thought better of it. Instead, she rolled her eyes and watched as the hybrid disappeared down the hall.

"You'll have to excuse, Niklaus. Neither of us had as fun of a night as you did."

"Why? What happened?" Evangeline asked, but trailed off the moment Elijah entered the house.

"Evangeline." He greeted, simply nodding his head towards her before climbing up the stairs to his bedroom.

"That happened." Kol whispered, signaling for her to follow him into the kitchen where he immediately turned on the water faucet. "He's been in a bad mood all day. Are you ready to spill what went on between the two of you?"

"Kol, I don't know what you're talking about. Nothing happened." Evangeline lied, hoping the original vampire would simply drop the subject, but Kol Mikaelson was persistent.

"You know very well what I'm talking about. I want to know whatever Rebekah had to compel out of you. Now, tell me the truth. What happened?"

"I told you nothing happened. If Elijah is moody, that's not really my problem, is it? Now if you'll excuse me, I think I'm going to get some more sleep."

Kol watched as Evangeline retreated back down the hall, her tiny footfalls leading up the stairs and into her bedroom on the second floor. He let out a frustrated sigh, going back towards the living room to see if his sisters had any better luck.

"Bex! Pst! Rebekah!"

"Bloody hell, Kol." Rebekah groaned as she awoke, waking up Freya in the process.

"What's going on?" Freya asked in a sleepy tone, her arms lifting from underneath the blanket to rub her eyes.

"What's going on? Our brother has been in a terrible mood all night, which ultimately put Nik in a mood as well. I'm tired of the secrecy between Elijah and Evangeline. She won't tell me what's up, and I'm hoping you two were able to dig the truth out of her while we were gone or else this entire night was wasted."

"The entire night I was wasted you incredible pain in the ass." Rebekah huffed. "Can't this wait until morning once this hangover has worn off?"

"Forget your terrible decision to drink too much, sister. Did you find out anything or not?"

"Kol, we really shouldn't be sharing secrets that aren't ours to tell." Freya sighed, running a hand through her hair.

"Seriously." Rebekah agreed. "If Evangeline didn't want to tell you, then you'll just have to wait until someone else does, but I can guarantee it won't be from me. I just earned back the girl's trust."

"Not from me either." Freya shook her head.

"You two know something, don't you?" Kol growled. "Oh, come on, why won't you tell me what happened? I don't need to know it all, just a few details. Please, I promise I won't tell."

"You sound like a teenage girl trying to find out her best friend's crush." Rebekah chuckled. "Your inflated ego just took a big hit there."

"Oh, shut up, Bex."

"You're not going to stop bugging us about this, are you?" Freya asked.

"Not a chance. I will bug you until I get even a drop of information as to why Elijah has been an unusual dick all night long."

"Fine." Rebekah nodded, as Freya glared at her.

"You can't tell him, Bex."

"I have to, or he's not going to shut up about it."

"You only get to know what happened. No details. Got it?" Freya stated to Kol, who avidly shook his head yes. "They kissed and Elijah said it was a mistake."

"What?!" Kol exclaimed as Rebekah quickly shushed him. "It's fine, I have the kitchen sink running. They won't be able to hear us."

Freya and Rebekah breathed a sigh of relief.

"You can't tell Evangeline or Elijah that you know. I don't even think we're supposed to know." Freya whispered. "She barely told us."

"I won't. I promise."

"And don't you dare breathe a word of this to Nik." Rebekah replied. "You know how much he hates Evangeline."

"I wouldn't dream of it."

"Good." Rebekah sighed. "Now get out of here and let us get our beauty rest."
