Elijah awoke to a loud pounding on the front door. As he attempted to sit up, Evangeline stirred against his chest, rubbing her eyes sleepily.
"Elijah?" She whispered in an exhausted tone. "What's going on?"
"Someone's at the front door." He replied, standing from the bed and pulling on a pair of sweats.
"How?" Evangeline sat up abruptly. "The boundary spell is still up."
She quickly slipped out of the bed as Elijah rushed towards the stairs. She followed him all the way to the front entrance hall where Rebekah and Kol stood at the door, Freya sitting anxiously in the living room. When Elijah stopped at the foot of the stairs, she settled on the step behind him. Peering over his shoulder, she saw a young girl with fiery red hair standing on the porch. She was engaged in a conversation with Rebekah, who was asking her about her whereabouts.
"I'm sorry, you said you were here to what?" Kol cut in.
"I'm here to bring you a gift." She replied in a bell-like voice.
"What the bloody hell is going on?" Klaus appeared at the far end of the hall. "Who's at the door?"
"Nik, shut up for a moment." Rebekah turned to glare at him over her shoulder.
"Who the hell is this?" Klaus demanded, approaching the front door.
"My name is Rose." The young woman replied.
"Fitting." The hybrid chuckled under his breath before narrowing his eyes at her again. "Why are you here, Rose?"
"She said she's come to bring us a gift. Whatever that means." Kol responded.
"May I come in?" Rose asked politely. "It's rather cold out here."
Evangeline made eye contact with Elijah as he looked back at her, both sharing an uneasy glance.
"Sure, why not. Invite her in." Klaus mused, gesturing towards the living room.
"Nik!" Rebekah gasped at him.
"What?" Klaus shrugged his shoulders, lowering his voice. "She's just a human. What's the worst she can do to a house filled with original vampires?"
As he said those words, the sound of a blade being pulled out was resident in their ears. All five Mikaelsons and Evangeline turned to see Rose standing in the center of the living room with a large dagger clutched in her hand. Her face was blank as she stared back at them, but Evangeline could see the intense emotion in her eyes. They barely had enough time to react before, in one fluid motion, she brought the blade down across her throat. Evangeline screamed in horror as the blood pooled from Rose's neck, the sounds of her breath becoming gurgled against the crimson liquid. As she turned to hide against Elijah's shoulder, she became acutely aware that he had made his way down the stairs and now stood in the living room. As Evangeline looked around the room, she saw that Rebekah, Klaus, and Kol has begun to do the same. Moving down to the first floor, she ran up to Rebekah, who was the closest to her. Noticing the deep purple veins spreading across the original's cheeks, Evangeline felt the panic rise in her chest.
