It had been approximately five months since Evangeline and Elijah had been named parents. Five months since Evangeline's last vision. Five months since the Mikaelsons saw any vampires stalking the boundaries of the house.
At first, after everything that had occurred, the family was on edge. Evangeline had just been announced pregnant, and then Marcel's men disappeared without much explanation. Days went by, and soon enough, days turned to weeks, and weeks turned to months. It took awhile for everyone to settle down, but once they had, while still keeping up a safe guard, Evangeline quickly noticed a change in the original family. The siblings seemed relaxed, calmer than they probably should have, and oddly happy. The news of her pregnancy seemed to bring absolute joy to the family, and as much as she tried to join them, every time she would hear her mother's voice in her head. It would echo loudly over and over again, the sound of her disappointment and scolding seeming to last forever. The Mikaelsons noticed her strained behavior of course, but they simply assumed that it was just stress about having a baby so young and the side affects of the pregnancy itself.
Evangeline was currently lying in Elijah's bed reading her mother's journal. Much to her dismay, going through it did not calm her nerves. It seemed that the more she continued, the more she seemed to stress. Sighing heavily, she shut the book and tossed it onto the floor in frustration. Evangeline was tired of feeling an incredible weight on her shoulders. Part of it could have been the fact that she hadn't told any of the Mikaelsons about her vision the day she discovered her pregnancy. Trying to brush off her little fit, Evangeline slowly slid out of bed to retrieve the journal off the floor just as Freya entered the bedroom.
"Oh, Evangeline, it's okay. I've got it." Freya smiled, quickly jogging over to grab the journal from the floor.
"Thank you, Freya, but I'll be fine-" Evangeline began, reaching for the book herself, but Freya leaned in before she could.
However, as their fingers touched, both going for the journal, Freya froze, allowing Evangeline time to lift it off the ground despite her growing belly. As she stood back up, she noticed a look of shock on the Mikaelson witch's face.
"Freya?" She asked cautiously. "Are you okay?"
"When I touched you..." Freya began, but quickly shook her head, bringing her gaze back up to meet Evangeline's, a stern expression on her face. "Was there something you felt like you needed to tell me?"
"What?" Evangeline replied, dumbfounded at Freya's sharp tone. "Like what?"
"Oh, I don't know. Like maybe the fact that you interacted with your dead mother five months ago?"
