Evangeline woke up abruptly, her eyes snapping open as she sat up in a flash. Her heart was pounding in her ears as she came to, adjusting to the light pouring in from the windows. Trying to calm herself down, she tossed back the bed sheets and immediately slipped into the bathroom to rinse her face. After turning on the faucet and feeling the cold water awaken her skin, she began to descend the stairs to join the Mikaelsons for breakfast. As she entered, Freya was the first to notice something was wrong.

"Evangeline? What's the matter?" The eldest Mikaelson paused in pouring herself a cup of coffee and turned towards the girl.

"I had another vision." Evangeline spoke quietly, alerting the attention of the rest of the siblings. "Marcel brought his men home, but this is far from over. He's planning another attack, this time, with more force and even more men than before."

"This is not good." Freya sighed deeply. "I'm running out of supplies to keep up the boundary spell."

"You don't have any extras stashed away in the basement or something?" Kol asked from where he sat at the kitchen table.

"No, I don't. All the extras I did have, I've already used. To get more, I would need to go into town."

"There is no way you're going into the French Quarter with the possibility of Marcel's vampires stalking about." Elijah protested with a worried look. "You'd be more apt to go a few towns over, maybe even further, to avoid being seen."

"I'll go with her." Kol offered. "I'm itching to get out of this house."

"I'll go too." Rebekah grinned. "It can be a family outting."

"See, brother?" Freya turned to Elijah. "I'll be safe. You and Klaus can hold down the fort here until we get back."

"There is no way in hell that I am staying here alone with Elijah and Evangeline pretending that there's nothing going on when we all know for damn sure that there is." Klaus growled, taking everyone by surprise. "I'm coming with the lot of you. Elijah can hold down the fort himself."

"Then it's settled." Rebekah grinned. "Freya, Nik, Kol and I will go buy more supplies and Elijah will stay behind with Evangeline."

Evangeline stood in the doorway as Freya and Rebekah gathered their things, prepping to head out. The young vampire was nervously chewing the inside of her bottom lip, pondering over the situation of being alone with Elijah again.

"Oh, Evangeline, stop fussing." Rebekah smirked, bringing her to attention. "A weekend alone with Elijah is just what you two need to solve this little thing you have going on."

"Does it have to be the entire weekend?" Evangeline groaned.

"I'm sorry, Evangeline, but since we can't go into New Orleans, the next best place is in Salem." Freya sighed. "I wish we didn't have to go so far, but I'm not going to be able to find the supplies I need anywhere else."

"Plus, I think it will be fun to visit the witch capital of the country." Rebekah chuckled. "I hope they don't hate original vampires in Massachusetts."

Evangeline sighed heavily, running her fingers through her hair in an aggravated way. Freya noticed the young vampire's actions immediately and placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder.

"It's only going to be two days. We'll be home first thing Monday morning. I promise."

Evangeline nodded slowly as she followed the Mikaelson sisters downstairs. Klaus and Kol were already standing at the door with bags slung over their shoulders, and Elijah stood leaning against the staircase. Evangeline stopped herself on the second to last step of the stairs, standing on the opposite side away from Elijah. As Rebekah and Freya handed off their bags to the boys, they turned around to say goodbye.

"We'll see you both in two days." Freya sighed, sending Evangeline one last warm smile.

"Goodbye, Freya. I hope you can find everything you're looking for." Evangeline replied, trying to keep her composure.

"Thank you." Freya nodded, before turning to leave alongside her sister.

"Bye you two!" Rebekah grinned as she prepped to close the door behind her. "Do us all a favor and have fun while we're gone. It would do you both some good."

As the youngest Mikaelson closed the door behind her, Evangeline and Elijah shared an awkward glance towards one another. Not knowing how to handle the sudden situation, Evangeline slipped down the last two steps and began to walk towards the kitchen.

"I think I need a drink."
