38. Welcome home

Chapter 38

   Welcome Home

Jane POV

I let my eyes stay closed as Derek drove to the pack house. The drive was filled with melodies of the radio. Neither one of us said a word. I think Derek knew I didn't want to talk or thought I was tired. I couldn't stop thinking about Chris.

If Chris was my mate for so long why didn't I feel it? When I look at Derek, I feel love for him but when I see Chris it isn't the same love. I sighed and wondered why things get complicated once I get happy. Everything was so good until now. I finally had Justin back but now Chris is leaving.

"Babe we're here " Derek said.

I opened my eyes and saw him standing outside my door holding it open. He looked so happy. I smiled and took his hand to get out. As soon as I was out his hands were wrapped around my waist. I leaned back to him and closed my eyes. Coming back home didn't feel right anymore. I turned and hugged Derek. All I felt like was crying. Part of me felt like I was in pain. It was a strong sadness that caused me to want to crawl in somewhere and cry. I felt Derek tightened his hold on me.

"Babe what's wrong? " he asked me.

"Just hold me " I whispered.

He hugged me tight, his embrace helped with the pain. He stayed silent while I calmed down.

"I missed you so much " Misty squealed.

I hugged her back and I felt content. My BestFriend, my sister was here with me. She then pulled away an began dragging me to the back. She was grinning like a mad man and laughing.

"Where are we going ? " I asked while turning to look for help from Derek.

He was walking behind us with Drew smiling. He looked so happy and excited and I wondered what had him like this? I was about to question him when we stopped. I turned to look in front of me, the whole pack was there.

"Welcome back home " everyone cheered.

I was stunned in place. They did a welcome home party for me. There was tables set up with food. Balloons were everywhere and a big banner said ' We missed you Jane '. I couldn't help but let a small tear fall. This was my home, I actually had a family that loved me back. Jason was the first to tackle me into a hug and spin me around. I smiled a bit and hugged him.

"Aww my little Jane how I missed you " he said.

"Hey I want a hug too" Lucas said pulling me away from Jason.

"Always the charmer Lucas" I chuckled a bit and give him a hug.

After giving Lucas a hug, I continued to get hugs from everyone else and had a few small talks with some. The party was good. Kids ran around playing tags while the adults talked and ate. Teenagers were running around gossiping and in their little cliques. It was so peaceful and that made me smile. This was my family.

"Having fun ?" Justin asked.

I turned to look at him and tried to pull my happiest smile. Justin hugged me but then pulled back.

"What's wrong ?" I Justin asked.

"Nothing. everything is great. I'm finally home " I said and turned away.

"I know you aren't happy. I know you. So tell me what's wrong " he said holding onto arm.

"I'm great really, I'm just tired" I said.

"You should sit for a while then " he said leading me to a table.

I leaned into him and let him walk me to a table. When I finally opened my eyes I noticed Leah sitting there. I smiled to her and closed my eyes.
