Chapter 42

Reminiscing

Justin POV

Her words made me freeze and look at her. I was so excited after hearing her call me Jay and say she wanted to talk to me that I didn't see my sports bag. I was so happy just having some normalcy back in my life and now this ? I sighed and looked to the water. She can't hate me now when she started to remember me. I wouldn't be able to handle it. It would break me, it brought back memories of the night I almost killed her. She almost died ! I winced after thinking that. I still felt guilty for not trying when I had the chance. Now I see the difference from how she use to look at my brother. The jealousy burns inside me at the thought of just remembering when I was the one that held her before. The one she loved and wanted always at her side. For so long I wanted to scream out that I loved her and just remember me again but I knew that wasn't the way. Everyday I regret three things more and more as they pass. First was keeping my distance because of my depression that filled me. Second was not telling her a single thing, and third was marking Leah.

"Jay what's wrong?" she asked touching my shoulder.

I looked up to her eyes and saw the concern and worry clear as day. My wolf was growling at her mere touch. Everything that involved her giving me the slightest attention had him yapping and growling in pleasure.

"Jay, why are you crying?" she whispering caressing my cheek.

I closed my eyes and felt myself get goosebumps. The smallest things she did drove me insane and she didn't know it. She had no clue about all the love I been hiding away. The difficulty to not be near her and smell her scent. After getting myself together I opened my eyes again and gave her a sad smile. She had the stack of pictures in her lap. How could I explain everything to you and have you not hate me, I thought. She put her hand down and I was about to whimper but she grabbed my hand instead. She interlocked our hands and gave me a small squeeze. Okay, I guess baby steps first. Pictures be good to start with in this situation. Here goes nothing.

"You want me to tell you all our times in the pictures first ?" I asked her.

"Yes " she said smiling.

She took off the rubber band and looked at our first picture together. She looked adorable and Misty had caught both of us off guard. She just looked at the picture, I guess she couldn't really recognize herself. She changed dramatically but she was still beautiful.

" This is the time we first went out. You had finally accepted my offer to be friends and we went out to just chill. You were scared of going alone with me so you invited my brothers and Misty. We had fun at the park, just laughing and talking. We even had a picnic and played frisbee " I laughed. " You were actually surprised when I came to pick you up. I still remember what you said, Justin what -"

"What in the world do you think your doing at my house ? "She giggled.

"You remembered " I said laughing.

"How could I not looking at this picture ? I remember feeling like a tomato and not being able to look into your eyes after realizing I told you to pick me up " she said looking at  the picture.

There were tons of pictures of us. From us just hanging out and taking selfies or some Misty took. Even some of just her when she was distracted. She looked at each picture and smiled. I made sure that each picture I picked for her to see was one that she could remember easily. These pictures were all my favorite moments with her, even if we had many good moments, these were just the best. Then as she kept going our pictures starting showing our turn from friendship to relationship. At some point I pulled her closer to me explaining each one and she just looked at our date pictures, reminiscing about our past. Then she got to our last picture. It was the day I was leaving for the summer.
