Chris POV
" R-re-reject ?" She stuttered nervously.
" Yes. Um, my mom knew you were my mate. I guess it was obvious since I couldn't control myself " I mumbled.
I looked away ashamed. Not ashamed because I love her but because of my past. I wasn't that innocent carefree boy she knew. I wasn't completely honest with her since I returned. But how could I tell her the truth. The truth of the monster I really was and not the guy she thought all this time. I knew it was selfish. Selfish to not tell her about my real true self but I couldn't loose her. Not completely. Just knowing she was okay and still needed me to be there for her was the only thing keeping me from going insane.
" Tian. Tell me everything that's happened since you left. I could see it in your eyes so perfectly that your not the person I once knew at least not here in this place. " she whispered looking into my eyes snapping me from my thoughts.
I knew her curiosity was burning but I didn't know if telling her my past would change her view on me. I couldn't have her see me as a stranger. To know that she was terrified of me -no not that. I wouldn't be able to stand that at all. I can't loose her completely. I needed her in my life.
"Tian nothing you say will change the way I see you. It won't change how you protect me, always did protect me. I can see the guilt and panic in your eyes. I'm not that little naive girl. I know things change and sometimes we do stupid things. But no one will ever make me stop from loving you Tian. Your my protector, the one that only wants my happiness even it would hurt you" she whispered and quickly hugged me.
Her words pierced my heart. Just knowing that made my heart swell. But what if the truth was too much to handle ? I knew Rose so well, like the back of my hand and just knowing there's a small possibility she might run scared me. She was the only one that could make or break me. The only one that I hung to so desperately, because in her eyes I was always her savior. Her protector.
There's no one that I trusted except her. She was the only one that could get me to speak about anything. No one knew me better than her. I couldn't trust anyone to get close to me except her. She was my light of my world. She made me want to be better, to get rid of the evil in the world. She made me feel like I was someone important.
Not by title.
Not by birth right.
Not by my powers.
Not by my looks or charm.
But because I was simply Christian.
Her Chris. Her Tian. Her best friend. Just her's period.
"After you left talking to people was always hard" she said still holding me and whispering in my ear.
I froze, feeling confused. Why would she have a hard time talking to people ? She was always carefree and happy. She never had a problem to talk to anyone. Every time we went somewhere she always wanted others to joint playing with us. Her only condition was that I had to be on her team.
" When you were around. I always found it easy to talk to anyone. I wasn't scared to just go up to anyone." She whispered.
"But you weren't ever the shy one " I mumbled confused.
There wasn't a time I ever saw her be shy since I met her. Hell she made me her friend.
"I was extremely shy all the time. Do you remember the first time we met? " she asked.
" Of course I do, how could I not remember the girl that came up to me and demanded we be friends because I had a batman lunch box" I chuckled at the memory.
