Chapter 48
Déjà Vu
Justin's POV
The attack was unexpected, no one knew it would happen. The fight didn't last long after we gain the upper hand, but there was a nagging feeling to me. I checked around the pack house and made sure everyone was safe. Walking into the living room, I saw my brother moving around calling Misty's name. Everyone was looking terrified, I know soon his wolf would take over if he didn't see his mate. I tried to concentrate on her smell but it was all faint in the house.
"Where is your Luna ?! Misty!!! Babe, it's safe to come out " he yelled.
Then I heard faint whimpering and sobbing from outside. I walked outside and tried to find the source. Scanning the front yard I saw only blood and bodies being carried away. When I walked to the back, my throat tightened, Misty was there but she looked horrible. She was full of blood and her baby had a scar over his eye and was in werewolf form. Misty sensed my presence and locked eyes with me.
"They took her , then, then-th-they, oh god" she stuttered before her tears surfaced.
I walked closer but Adam growled stepping in front of his mom. Carefully I kneeled in front of him and looked into his blue eyes.
"It's all okay Adam, it's me. Uncle Justin " I cooed.
He cocked his head to the side and starred at me. He didn't move a inch from in front of his mother. Misty pet him behind his ears and then he moved, Misty didn't waste any time and launched herself to my arms. Her sobbing grew louder, she looked so scared and I could smell another wolf on her heavily. Drew wasn't going to like this. If on cue, my brother growled loudly and appeared behind me. Next second, I was pushed away and he engulfed Misty and his son close to him. However, when he took in Misty's scent he began snarling.
"I'm so sorry love" he growled pulling her closer to him.
"She-she-she saved me " Misty said.
Again Misty was talking about someone. But she never say nothing more than she, that's all we got. Drew took in his son and wife inside. But no matter all the sweet words my brother whispered, she continued sobbing. The pack dispersed at Drew's command and Misty wouldn't let Adam go.
Since Misty was hysterical, Doctor Luke had to give her a sedative to fall asleep. My brother looked much older, his distress for his mate was evident on his face. No one knew what happened to Misty. How did she end up outside the pack house while rouges were attacking? No one said anything, everyone knew Drew was a ticking time bomb. Jason and Derek were doing permitter check because both of them couldn't stand not being busy. Jane's departure affected everyone in the pack house, even though it was all of our actions that drove her away, everyone missed her dearly.
She was the happiness and weirdness of everyone's day, even on the days she trained the warriors for hours with painful but yet needed techniques. The first week no one wanted to take blame except for me but later on they realized it was their mistrust in her too that gave her the push to leave. I was too self absorbed in my pain to realize Drew's insecurities towards Jane when she was alone with Misty. Looking back, I always realized there was many warriors around Jane when she interacted with pack members. Infuriated I became when they said it was all my doing she left. That before she became a vampire everyone had accepted her, but since I didn't protect her when she got attacked, I was to blame. First two weeks of hearing this nonsense made me explode. I went on ranting about her feeling my betrayal of love then seeing that her family was just the same as me. By this point I didn't care anymore what any one felt. Jane didn't deserve our hurt and I was scared that she would shut everyone out. Danny walked though the living room and walked up to me.
