Sunday afternoon after skipping out on work and getting someone else to cover his shift, Stephen was carrying his keys and phone into a small coffee shop to meet Jessica. She had called him and asked him to meet her so they could talk one on one and without any of their friends.
Stephen walked into the coffee shop in his white long sleeved shirt, light grey ripped jeans, and darker grey sneakers. He instantly saw Jessica sitting at a booth in the near empty shop. She was drinking some coffee with a drink across from her. Stephen smirked seeing her in her favorite white lace top and matching shorts with sandals on.
Stephen walked over and sat down across from her. "Hey." He breathed. "How are you?"
Jessica looked up at him and smiled. "Hey, I'm good. How are you?"
"I'm good." He smiled back. "This for me?" He asked, pointing to the drink.
Jessica nodded. "Yeah. Your favorite."
Stephen didn't say anything as he just took the drink and slid it closer to him. He kept his gaze on her as he saw she was nervously tapping her nails against her plastic coffee cup with the straw nearly hitting her chin.
"What'd you want to talk about?" Stephen finally spoke, sipping from of his drink from his straw. "What's up?"
"Can we talk about us?" She wondered. "I mean, the vibes we had at your party were...amazing." She giggled. "And we were about to kiss before Ethan jumped into the pool with his dick half out."
"And than you ran off and left the party." Stephen recalled. "Why didn't you stay? Talk with me than?"
"I got scared." Jessica admitted. She pulled her hair out of its bun and let it fall down over her shoulders and back. Jessica than ran her fingers through her light brown hair. "I thought if we kissed you'd regret it and not want to be with me again. Than I heard you were complaining to your friends about me leaving and than I felt bad."
Stephen leaned back in his side of the booth and chuckled. "So you wanna get back with me?" He smirked. "What do I get out of it?"
Jessica giggled seeing he was having fun with this. "You get my love and compassion."
Stephen raised his eyebrows as he sipped from his drink. "So you love me?"
Jessica groaned with a smile as she put her elbows on the table. "I hate you." She laughed. "Of course I love you. I never stopped. Do you love me?"
"I risked bursting into flames when I met your parents and almost had to say a Christian prayer." Stephen recalled. "Course I love you. But you broke my heart at the best moment of my life. I can't just forget that."
"I know." Jessica whispered. She knew Stephen heard her since the coffee shop was basically empty other than the workers and one other couple. "And I'm sorry."
Stephen nodded as he just stared at his drink. He didn't say anything as he could feel her feet touching his. Neither one of them said a word for what felt like hours. They just sat there in silence before Jessica crossed her legs and looked up at him.
"I shouldn't have done that. There isn't an excuse for that." Jessica admitted, once again. "I'm sorry." She reached across the table and held onto his hand. She noticed, since his sleeves were rolled up, he had gotten his Star of David tattoo touched up.
"Your tattoo looks nice." Jessica complimented. "Going to get anymore?"
Stephen nodded as he switched his stare over to her. "Yeah, my new girlfriend's face right on my thigh." He smirked.
Jessica laughed as she let go of his hand. "That'll look nice. Nice and big in the middle of your thigh for everyone to see."
Stephen chuckled. He crossed his arms and kept his eyes on her as he smirked. "I'll forgive you, on one condition."
