The next afternoon, the country club was at full swing and was busy. Families were walking around, men and women were heading to the golf course, and older people were heading to have lunch.

Since it was hot outside, Manny had dressed in a flower crop top with a matching skirt. It was form fitting and showed off her stomach which she was no longer trying to hide. She was putting her hair up in a bun as she was walking through the country club so she could head to the pool building. As she walked, Manny spotted Jose jogging towards her.

"Hey!" He called out to her as he passed her.

"Hello." She spoke, watching him jog down the walk way. Manny frowned as she kept watching him before laughing when she saw him run into the main building. The boys only went in there so they could go to the bathroom.

Manny whipped around when she felt hands on her hips. She turned around to see someone in front of her holding onto her so she didn't run into them. Manny looked up to see Jacob standing there.

"You should watch where you're walking with the baby. Don't want to run into someone." Jacob advised. He let her go and slipped passed her.

"Jose got to the bathroom alright." Manny called out to him. "I think he'll be okay if you talk to me for a couple minutes."

Jacob stopped and turned around to face her. "Manny, you moved on. Clearly you did. You didn't want to be with me because you just went off and slept with someone else."

"It didn't mean anything. It was a mistake. Sleeping with him was a mistake." Manny protested. "I...I'm sorry. Please, I need you more than ever now. I can't do this alone."

Jacob frowned as he crossed his arms and stepped closer to her. "What? Your baby daddy isn't going to help out?"

Manny shrugged. "He lives in New Mexico. I haven't even talked to my mom yet about it. My dad told her but, she...I haven't called her nor do I want to. So I'm guessing I'm staying down here. I know what I did was horrible and I shouldn't have done that to you. I want to be with you. I swear."

"Saying you swear doesn't change anything." Jacob sighed. "Maybe we can talk about this later."

Manny wanted to burst into tears when she watched Jacob start to walk away. "No!" She protested. "No. My mom told me that one day you're gonna meet someone who is different than everyone else. They make you rethink everything and they make you want to change who you are. You can talk to them for hours and never get bored of them. You're that person, Jacob and I'm not letting you leave that easily. Yeah, I messed up. We all do! That's what we do. I'm 17, I'm suppose to make mistakes. I made a mistake letting you go. I shouldn't have done that. I made a mistake 8 or 9 months ago went I didn't tell you about our baby. I was wrong for that and I'm sorry. There's nothing I can say or do more than say I'm sorry over and over again and show I'm truest sorry. But maybe...this baby, my baby, will help me figure his stuff out. He or she will help me stop making these dumb moves that are going to end up driving me down a road I don't want to be on. Maybe this baby will help with that, but I know you will. So please, for the love of God, please don't leave me. If you leave me than I won't make it. I can't do this alone."

Jacob stared at her with his heartbreaking seeing her sobbing. She was begging him. Something Manny didn't do. She didn't beg for acceptance, she just moved on with her life and didn't care what people thought about her.

Jacob walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her shoulders. He just let her cry into his chest. Manny held onto his shirt as she let out all of her emotions. "Breathe. Just breathe." Jacob whispered in her hair. "It's gonna be alright. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but it's gonna be alright. Sometime soon, it's gonna be alright. You're gonna make it, just don't give up until than. Alright? You'll be a bit damaged but you'll heal. I promise."

Manny nodded as she pulled away from his chest and wiped her tears away. "Okay. I'm sorry. You should go check on Jose."

Jacob smirked. He wrapped an arm around her shoulder as he started walking her in the direction she was going before. "I think he can handle himself quite alright. He's a big boy."

"You don't have to walk me. I'll make it fine." Manny insisted. "It's just to the pool building."

Jacob moved his arm from around her neck and to her hand. "Nah, its fine. I want to. Can't let anything happen to you."

Manny looked up to him to see him wink to her. His blue eyes scanned her stomach before looking forward again. Manny put her hand on her slight bump before walking along with Jacob to the pool building. Before she went inside, Jacob stopped her by keeping a hold on her hand.

"How about we go out tomorrow night? Like old times?" Jacob wondered. "See a movie, grab something to eat?"

Manny's face lit up in excitement. "Yeah. I'd like that. I'd love that."

Jacob nodded. He leaned down and kissed her temple before letting go of her hand and walking away. As he walked away, he heard Manny go inside the pool building and squeal as she started telling Clover what just happened. Jacob just chuckled as he headed towards the golf course. Right when he was about to walk inside, he saw Jose walking up to him.

"Hey! What happened?! Where'd you go?" Jose asked.

Jacob smirked. "My fault. I just had to have a conversation real quick."
