Wednesday morning, bright and early at 7am all the Grand Ridge High School varsity football players went to their first practice. When they arrived, they saw Mateo had moved up some of the junior varsity players up to varsity, but as backups so they had enough players to have a successful season and not have to be concerned about anyone getting hurt and them having to forfeit a game.

Ethan pulled up to the school with Jacob, Stephen, and Jose in his backseat while Diego was sitting in the passenger's seat. Diego was staring at the field and at his teammates lining up on the sidelines admiring their new field.

All the boys quickly got out and Diego followed behind, unable to rush because of his neck. He had to carefully get out the car since his neck brace prevented him from bending his torso too much.

When Diego got to the field, he was in shock seeing it was perfect. The grass was bright green, the lines and markings were bright white, and the goal posts were back in their correct spots. The bleachers were brand new and were shining in the sun from how clean they were. They had new bright blue benches on the sidelines.

Mateo walked onto the field and faced all of them. He smiled widely at their expression seeing their favorite place to be coming back to what they remembered it as and even better.

"Welcome lady and gentlemen to your new field." Mateo smiled. "We'll be practicing on this field in a little bit, but I want to give you a tour of what you're home will be for some of you, the next near 4 or 5 months. And some of you near year, two years, or even three. We repaired everything and even added some new additions. Now, go over to the athletic building and see where you'll be hanging up your cleats."

All of them took off running to the athletic building. The two story black building had windows beside the door to look out and their Jaguars logo all over it with pictures and banners of the many sports teams all over them.

When they walked in, they saw the locker room was back to normal. The ground was black while the walls were a royal blue color with gold details. When they walked down the short hall, they got to the coaches' offices. They were all connected by a common area but broken off into different individual offices, Mateo's being the biggest out of all of them.

Mateo walked around them and lead them into the home locker room. Instantly the boys gasped seeing the blue and gold walls with their team pictures hanging up on them. The lockers were solid blue with black locks on them. Their lockers were twice as wide as they were before as they lined three walls. There were tan benches a few feet in front of the lockers for the side down on that were bolted into the ground while there were also moveable benches along the wall for their team meetings and pep talks.

On all of their lockers were their jersey numbers with number magnets. All of their lockers were where they were before the flood since Mateo had near memorized where the players lockers were. Instantly all the players went off to their lockers and opened them and admired where they were going to keep their jerseys, padding, cleats, clothes, and other prize possessions.
