Saturday morning was a usual one for the cheerleaders for the Grand Ridge Dallas Jaguars. They all showed up to the football field where they were suppose to be at practice by football players so they could get quick on their feet for when balls went flying pass them and the players ran out of bounds. They also needed to get a feel for the field for when they cheered during the games.
Mila parked her car in the back row of the parking lot with Jessica sitting next to her drinking an ice coffee. When Mila parked the car, the girls grabbed their individual book bags containing their cheerleading necessities.
Jessica walked with a peep in her step as she went to go find Stephen while Mila trailed behind her. "Is he even here yet?" Mila wondered.
Jessica shrugged. "I don't know. Ethan was suppose to bring him, but Ethan's Ethan and he's rarely on time to things."
Mila chuckled as she finished the last of her own coffee and stuck it into the side pocket of Jessica's bookbag when she wasn't paying attention.
The two girls walked up to the field where they saw the football players already going to the locker room to change. As Mila walked to the field, she saw Macy talking to Jacob. He was shirtless with a book bag in his hand as he chuckled at whatever they were talking about.
"Stop looking so evil."
Mila looked to the side and saw Jessica standing next to her with her usual soft smile. Mila didn't realize that she was looking at them in disgust. "Stop being mean." Jessica smirked. "They're just friends."
"Friends with benefits, yeah." Mila scoffed. "She's way to friendly with him. If Manny wasn't pregnant and went to all the practices, I know she would've said something."
Jessica sighed as she leaned on Mila's shoulder. "He wouldn't cheat on his pregnant girlfriend. Jacob's better than that. He's a sweetheart."
"It's not his baby." Mila pointed out, watching Macy go to touch Jacob but he stepped away, said something, and then went to the locker rooms. "Hoes will do anything for attention. Even steal a girl's man."
Jessica giggled as Macy walked pass them.
"Good morning." Macy smiled.
Jessica gave her a bright smile while Mila just gave her a fake one before dropping it when she walked past. "I don't trust her. New girl's weird."
"You're the captain, keep your opinions to yourself." Jessica whispered. "Can't let them know you hate her."
"Don't hate her, just strongly dislike her and can't trust her." Mila replied, turning around and walking to the cheerleaders. "Just be careful. Girl might get jealous and drop you when you're in the air."
Jessica rolled her eyes. "Doubt it."

Only 20 minutes later, Mateo was yelling at the football players to run fast and to do what they're suppose to be doing. Sitting on the sidelines benches, Diego just watched the practice since he had just arrived to practice. Mateo put him to work by having him watch the practice, doing the play book, and do work inside of the athletic building.
Diego was watching the practice when he felt hands on his shoulders. He looked down as best as he could and saw Mila's hands rubbing his chest before he heard her voice.
"What're you doing?"
Diego tried to shrug but couldn't. "Nothing. Just watching this. It's not as fun when you're not out there playing with them."
Mila nodded understanding what he meant. "Yeah I know, but good news. You get your neck brace off tomorrow. Maybe we can go out tonight and celebrate?"
"Nah." Diego answered. "I don't wanna. Just wanna stay home and relax. Might just go home, watch some tv, eat dinner, and call it a night and go to bed."
"Okay." Mila sighed, but forced a smile since she was leaning over the bench and he could see her from the corner of his eye. "I'll try and call you later than. Tell your mom I said hi."
"Okay." Diego muttered.
Mila stood up straight and sighed as she walked back over to the cheerleaders. She saw Jessica giving her a sympathetic look, but Mila ignored her and listened to their cheerleading coach Michelle who was telling them to go get in formation.

Meanwhile, the Barnes household was its usual loud and booming energy that it was every morning with two young boys running around. Ricky was sitting at the kitchen table scrolling through his phone. He had gotten a new screen on it since the old one was shattered and had pieces falling out of it.
He looked up at his mom and saw her dressed in her work formal wear so she could go to work. His mom, Rachel, was working seven days a week to pay for both the house bills and also Ricky's medical bills from the car accident.
"I'm looking for a job right now." Ricky assured her. "I'll be able to help pay the bills soon."
Rachel gave her eldest son a small smile as she finished cooking breakfast. "It's okay. You just heal up and when you're ready you can. But it's not time yet."
Ricky frowned. "Mom, according to a lot of people, I'm getting a lot better. I went to the doctor the other day and they said I'm doing tremendous or some stupid word. I'm doing great, ma."
Rachel looked over at Ricky again and let out a deep sigh. His hair was in a bun showing off the shaved side of his head from the accident. The hair was growing in quickly and wasn't easy to tell what had happen to him. But she knew what laid beneath that shorter patch of hair, a nasty scar from a doctor cutting into his skull to relieve the internal bleeding from damaging his brain any further. But Ricky didn't see it from her point of view, a mother having to get a call in the middle of the night to see her child in a hospital bed who could've died in a wreckage.
"I'll think about it." She whispered. "Okay? I'll...I'll think about it. Until than, you watch the boys today. Don't take them to day care because if you do, they'll charge me."
Rachel turned off the stove and left their breakfast of eggs in the pan for Ricky to distribute. She walked over to him and kissed his cheek making Ricky groan.
"Stop it." She said, slapping his arm. Rachel ran through the living room and kissed her two younger boys goodbye before leaving for work.
Ricky got up and grabbed three plates to feed his brothers. "Come get breakfast now or I'm gonna eat it all and let y'all starve until lunch."
Instantly Ricky heard the running footsteps of his brothers coming into the kitchen for breakfast. They sat down at the kitchen table and waited for their big brother to feed them.
"What y'all wanna do today?" Ricky asked, setting their plates in front of them.
"I wanna go to the circus!" Nick squealed.
"I wanna go to the toy store!" Mike suggested.
Ricky scoffed as he sat down with them. "How about the museum? Cause that's free."
The boys just nodded their heads and went along with what Ricky told them what they were gonna do. Ricky quickly ate his breakfast before putting his plate in the sink and starting to wash the dishes so his mom didn't have to when she got home from work.
