I wipe my sweaty hands on my jeans and take some deep breaths.
I really wished my heart wasn't beating so hard right now.
The door opens and I look up surprised. I sigh in relief when it's Liam who opens the door and not James.
"Hey.",I say.
Liam looks at me expectantly.
"Is James here?",I ask. Liam rolls his eyes and opens the door inviting me in.
I step in, feeling like a stranger in an apartment that I lived in for awhile.
I look around and bite my lip.
All the memories that these walls held.
Countless nights spent on that couch. Cuddling, talking and so many other things.
I look away quickly and brush the few tears that had escaped.
"What can I help you with?",Liam asks sitting down on the couch.
I look around for the first time noticing all the boxes.
"Is James moving?",I ask taking a seat across from Liam.
"James is in rehabilitation. My sister and I found him a week ago overdosed in his bed.",he says stoned face.
"Is he alright?",I ask.
He was doing so good. This was all my fault.
The tears fall now.
"He's fine. We got here just in time and took him to the hospital. Once he got released we put him into rehabilitation. I talked to him and well I couldn't leave him here it was too much for him. He's moving in with me once he gets out."Liam explains.
"This is all my fault.",I say.
"Well yeah part of it was but James is stupid. He shouldn't just give up like that over a break up. He's better than that.",Liam says.
The words sting but stay quiet.
"Well I came to talk and apologize. Maybe you can tell him that I'm really sorry and that if he wants to talk once he gets out that I would love nothing more.",I say.
"So you want to be back with him?",Liam asks raising his eyebrows.
"No I just wanted to talk everything out. Maybe salvage our friendship.",I say.
Liam rolls his eyes.
"Actually Kaitlyn it would be better if you could just stay away from him.",Liam says.
"Bu-",I start but he cuts me off.
"I know I'm being rude but James is my brother and to see him hurting like that over you, it breaks my heart. Yeah you made him happy but now you're just hurting him. Just stay away.",He says.
I look down at my hands.
"Look my sister will be here soon and trust me if she sees you it's not going to be pretty.",Liam says standing up.
I nod and get up walking towards the door.
"Liam please just do me a favor and whenever you think he's ready please give him this note. Please you have to promise.",I beg handing him the envelope.
Liam sighs and looks at the envelope.
"Fine. For the good old days.",Liam says taking the envelope.
I smile and give him a hug.
"Everything your brother and I had was real Liam. I'm sorry that it ended the way it did.",I say.
Liam says nothing.
I walk out and head to the elevator. I look back one last time.
I drive home.
I sit in the car and think back on everything.
I had gotten my closure. Well for the most part.
My heart was stilk heavy. I couldn't stop thinking about James.
But I had to get over it. I had told him everything I needed to say in that note, I prayed Liam gave it to him.
I sigh and get out of the car.
I head up to the apartment and unlock the door.
I smile and close the door.

Niko is on the couch, sleeping. I put my bag down and slip off my shoes.
I walk over and turn off the tv.
I brush back the hair on his forehead and kiss him.
He stirs and opens his eyes slowly.
"Come to bed baby.",I whisper. Niko grunts and gets up.
We walk to the room and I lay him down on the bed.
I strip out of my clothes and throw on one of Niko's shirts. I get into bed beside him.
He rolls over and wraps his good arm around my waist, pulling me to his bare chest.
He kisses my forehead. I move my my mouth up and kiss his lips.
He opens his eyes and gives me a sleepy smile.
"Closure?",he murmurs.
I smile.
"Closure.",I say. He smiles and leans forward capturing my lips with his.
