Brake's POV

Tahimik akong nagmamaneho. Tahimik lang din si Ayenna sa tabi ko. I don't know how should I react to what happened a while ago. I'm afraid I'll make the situation worst.

Hanggang sa nakarating kami sa bahay. I opened the door for her.

"Come on, cheer up. I know she's lying. You don't have to be sad." Hinawakan ko ang kamay niya.

Whatever the reason behind doesn't matter. I know it is the right thing to do kaya hindi ko masisisi si Ayenna. But my heart is breaking. Seeing Korrine a while ago wants me to hug and kiss her. Alam kong sobrang nasaktan siya sa ginawa ko, na naman. I don't deserve her anymore...

"Brake..." Maluha-luhang sambit niya at hinawakan ang kamay ko. "I'm sorry..."

"For what?" I said. I pulled her closer and hug tightly.

"I'm really sorry," she said while sobbing. "I don't wanna lie again. I don't want to hurt you more. Brake, what she said a while ago wasn't a lie..."

I tapped her head.

"I'll understand if you'll be mad at me but I swear, it's for the sake of the both of you. You two are cousin, you can't be together."

"I know. So don't worry at all. Nothing will change."

"Y-you know?! How come?" Namimilog ang mga mata niya sa gulat. "Nakakaalala ka na?"

"It's not like that. I mean, I know there's a reason behind it." I lied. "What are you going to do now?"

"Huh?"

"Alam ko na lahat. Hindi ba't yan naman ang ikinatatakot mo? Kaya nga halos ayaw mo na ako papuntahin dito."

"I'm sorry." Sambit niyang muli. "Actually, I was planning to force you to marry me if pipiliin mo si Korrine. Hindi ko talaga inaasahan na ganito lang ang magiging reaksyon mo. She used to be your world, your everything. That's why akala ko babalik ka sa kanya oras na malaman mo ang totoo."

"Wala namang magbabago kung babalik ako sa kanya. Ikalalala lang iyon ng sitwasyon. Pareho lang kami mahihirapan at masasaktan."

"You don't have to say sorry. You did nothing wrong." Pinunasan ko ang mukha niya. Biglang pumasok sa isip ko si Korrine. Kamusta kaya siya? I should be the one wiping her tears away...but damn, I was the reason of her tears.

"Do you...still...love me?" Nabigla ako sa tanong ni Ayenna.

Gustong gusto ko sabihin sa kanya na hindi ko siya mahal. Pero ayokong masaktan siya lalo. Isa pa, para saan pa ba? Andito na ako eh, wala nang magbabago.

"Do you really love me?" I asked.

She nodded. "I love you very much, Brake. Noon pa lang. Best friends pa lang tayo, mahal na kita. Kaya nung may opportunity para mapasaakin ka ay kinuha ko na. Mali ba ang naging desisyon ko?"

"Nevermind. Hayaan na natin lahat nang nangyari noon. Let's just focus on today, tomorrow and on our future."

"Do you still love me the same?"

"Yes. I love you." I'm sorry Ayenna. Sorry for using you to protect Korrine. Sorry if I can't give you the love that you deserve.

She hugged me tight. I can hear her sobs.

"Let's get married." Seryosong sambit ko. "I just want to make sure na wala nang gulong mangyayari."
