the guy that she gave a second chance did the same thing and broke her heart. she wanted to cry, and pour out her feelings, but she couldn't. it was like she had no tears at all. she thought it would hurt more than this, but it didn't.

she drew herself a warm bubbly bath. she leaned her head against the back of the tub and stared up at the ceiling. the memories they had together ran through her mind. she knew she shouldn't of taken him back, but she was a strong believer of second chances.

she finally snapped out of it and realized that she shouldn't be upset about this. she should be learning from her mistake. she decided that she needed to build walls and set her standards high.

2 weeks later

the brown eyed boy smiled a warm smile that melted her heart, and when he spoke, "you're just so beautiful," it was like her walls slowly started collapsing.

1 month later

"Who hurt you so bad that you can't let someone love you? You deserve so much happiness and love, but I can't give that to you because you won't let me." Shawn said helplessly. His voice was laced with desperation and sadness.

"my ex." She mumbled avoiding his eyes.

"how do you know I'm not like him if you never give me a chance?" he asked grabbing her arm lightly. Her eyes glanced at his large hands grabbing my sweatshirt.

"I'm scared of getting hurt again." She admitted softly.

"i will never hurt you." he said truthfully as he pulled her into his embrace.

4 months later

"Don't fucking lie to me shawn. Who the hell is she?!" It was their first big fight. A girl had sent Shawn nudes, and she saw them. Shawn tried to explain that it wasn't anyone he knew, but she didn't listen to him.

"I don't know who she is y/n." Shawn tried, but she didn't listen.

"I need to go." She said as she softly shook her head. She grabbed her purse and walked out of his house leaving Shawn to watch the love of his life walk out. They didn't know what this meant. Was it over? Was this just a simple fight?

"Sorry i couldn't answer your call-." Shawn hung up after hearing her voicemail for the 10th time. He put his head in his hands and sighed. He had to fix this. He grabbed his car keys and drove to her house.

his knuckles collided with her front door. It swung open revealing her bloodshot eyes.

"Y/n just let me explain," shawn begged stopping her from closing the door. she didn't say anything so Shawn continued, "my number got leaked so that photo was probably from a fan. You have to believe me. I would never cheat on you y/n. I love you too much to do that to you."

She was quiet for a few seconds as she processed what he said. He loved her. She couldn't believe it.

"I love you too shawn." And with that all the walls that she had once put up to block everyone out had collapsed.

Shawn showed her how she deserved to be treated and loved.
