"We have the teenage heartthrob Shawn Mendes and Y/N Y/L/N here to talk about their new duet right after this commercial break." The show host Jimmy Fallon said causing the audience to clap. 

 I took a deep breath and turned to face Shawn. 

"Are you okay?" He asked looking at me concerned. 

"Yeah, just a little nervous. I'll get over it as soon as I get out there." I shrugged.  He nodded before placing his hands on my hips. 

"Are you sure you're ready to tell the fans?" I asked Shawn. 

He pushed his brows together and looked at me confused, "Of course, are you?" 

"Yes," I nodded my head for reassurance. Shawn and I decided that tonight would be the night we would go public with our relationship. It kind of just happened. During the making of, "Replacement," we started to slowly fall for each other. We spent over a month together to make the song was perfect, once the album was released I thought we would just quit talking and only see each other when we occasionally run into each other at awards shows, or something like that. I was completely wrong, we kept in touch. We would talk every day, and now here we are. 

"Now here to talk about their new song together, Shawn Mendes and Y/N Y/L/N." Jimmy said for out cue to walk out from behind the curtain. Shawn and I walked side by side over to the velvety couch. Before we sat down Jimmy gave us both a welcoming hug. 

The claps and cheers soon died down and it was time to start the interview. 

"So how long did the making of the song take?" Jimmy asked. 

"Uh," Shawn glanced over at me. 

"About a month." I said for Shawn. 

"Oh wow, so you guys spent a lot of time together." Jimmy said with a small smile. 

Shawn and I laughed lightly, "Yeah we did." He said. 

"I'm sure we are all wondering if something you know," Jimmy raised his eyebrows up and down making the crowd laugh. 

Shawn looked over at me with a small smile before saying anything. As I waited for him to say something I swallowed hard, "Well actually, Y/N and I are together." He placed his large hand on my thigh and squeezed it lightly. The crowd erupted in, "awes." 

"So will we be expecting love songs now?" Jimmy asked making me laugh. 

"Most definitely." Shawn said smiling widely. Relief washed over me like a wave. It was finally out there, and Shawn and I wouldn't have to worry about going in public together. Of course there would be some hate, but that won't bother me, I'm just glad we are public all thanks to a talk show.
