Shawn Mendes and Hailey Baldwin make appearance at Met gala together as a couple
My heart sank as i looked at the pictures of them together. Shawn said they were just friends, but the photos said other wise. Shawn and Hailey went to the met gala went together for publicity.
I threw the magazine on the glass coffee table and wiped my tears as the front door opened.
"Babe, I'm home." Shawn announced as the door closed.
"I'm in the living room." I said trying to make my voice sound as normal as possible.
"Hey I- what's wrong?" Shawn asked his facial expression changing to concern.
"Um," I wiped my nose, "nothing. How was your day?" I asked. Shawn ignored my question and looked down at the coffee table. His eyes studied the magazine for a few seconds. He bent down and picked it up.
"Y/n you know," Shawn started but I cut him off.
"Yes shawn. I know that you two are just friends." My voice was filled with annoyance and sarcasm.
"Y/n," I stood up and walked away as he called out my name.
"Damnit y/n, we've talked about this." He said following me into the kitchen.
"I just wish I was the one you make public appearances with, you know, you're girlfriend." I said anger bubbling through me.
"It was for publicity! They did the same shit with camila. You know this." Shawn said. He turned around and ran his fingers through his hair out of frustration, "You can never trust the magazines." Shawn said turning back around.
"I know." I said quietly. I rubbed the palm of my hands over my face and sighed.
"I'm going to go." I said grabbing my car keys and purse.
"Go where?" Shawn asked walking close behind me as I walked to the door.
"I don't know, I just need to go somewhere." I said shaking my head and opening the door.
"Y/n, please don't let this get to you. You know I love you." He said grabbing my hand. I stopped and sighed.
"I love you too shawn, but this gets too much for me sometimes." I said looking in to his caramel colored eyes.
"I'm so sorry, I don't want you to have to keep feeling this way." Shawn said looking down. at our intertwined hands, "I think it's time we tell the fans."
My heart was racing, I was happy but scared. "Are you sure?" I asked.
"Yes." He said as he pulled out his phone.
