the smell of the sweet treats and ice cream lingered through the cool ice cream shop. shawn and I looked up at the menu to see what we want.

"What are you thinking about getting?" Shawn asked looking down at me.

"Um," I pushed my brows together as I studied the varieties of the creamy cold desert, "cookies and creams," I looked away from the menu at him, "what about you?"

"Chocolate." He said without hesitation.

"basic," I said teasing him.

He gasped and placed his hand over his chest, "How dare you, chocolate is the best hands down." He said acting offended.

I laughed and shook my head, "it might be good, but it's basic." I shrugged making him shake his head.

"Whatever." He said with a sparkling smile. His whole face lit up when he smiled. It made him look very attractive, well even more attractive.

"What can I get for you two?" The woman behind the counter asked hitting something on the cash register in front of her.

"2 cookie and creams on a cone." Shawn ordered. I looked at him confused. I thought he wanted chocolate. He paid and then the woman began fixing our ice creams.

"Cookies and cream?" I raised a brow at him causing him to smile down at the ground.

"Yeah, I didn't want to be too basic." He said as the woman handed him the ice creams. He handed me mine and then we began to walk outside.

"Do you want to play 20 questions?" He asked before licking the not so basic treat.

"Sure." I shrugged and did the same.

He was silent for a second before asking me a question, "what is your favorite memory?" He asked.

"that's a really good question," I said looking over at him.

he nodded his head and shrugged his shoulders cockily, "I know."

I laughed and shook my head before thinking about it. "Well," I said finally picking my favorite, "when I was little my dad used took me to this really cool lake house at Silver Lake, we spent a few days up there. We went fishing and then we at that  this amazing restaurant called, 'Pops'." I said smiling at the memory. Shawn studied me as I talked. He listened closely.

"That sounds like it would be fun." Shawn said when I finished.

"It was." I said smiling, I then began to think of a question for Shawn, "what's your favorite thing to do?" I asked before going back to my ice cream.

"Go around the world and meet new people." He said with that damn smile.

"Wow." I said shocked at his answer. I thought it would be something like hockey or spending time with family.

"What's your phone number?" Shawn asked making butterflies flutter in my stomach.

"I'll put it into your phone." I said holding my hand out for him to hand it to me. He gave me his phone and I put my contact in. He smiled when I handed it back to him.

We both finished our ice creams and continued walking to, well we really didn't know. We just kept walking as we talked. The more we talked the more I got to know Shawn and how really amazing he was.

"The sun is starting to set." Shawn said looking off in the distance. The sky was turning a mix of oranges, pinks, and blues as the sun set over the horizon.

"Follow me." I said taking Shawn's hand in mine. Shawn and I ran to the amazing spot that I found when I was like 16. It was the perfect spot to watch the sun go down.

We walked up the concrete stairs that led up to the rooftop.

"Woah." Shawn said in awe when we got to the roof of the old building.

I smiled and looked out at the beautiful view. You could see everything from the top. All the buildings that flipped the lights on as it got darker, cars that were starting to get caught up in traffic, and the prettiest sunset. Shawn and I walked closer to the edge and sat down.

"How did you find this place?" Shawn asked turning his head to look into my eyes.

"Uh," I leaned forward and looked into his chocolate brown eyes, "When my parents were getting a divorce I needed kind of an escape, I was walking around one day and it started raining. I found the nearest building and went up the steps. I was curious to see where the steps led to and it led to here." I smiled a toothless smile before turning my head back to look at the view.

"Well," he placed his large hand on my knee, "it's a pretty cool place." He gave me a side smile.

Shawn and I sat there as the sun completely set and the sun came out along with stars. The whole time Shawn and I just talked and got to know each other better. I was really starting to like him.

"We should probably head back, it's getting late." He said looking at the time on his phone.

"Yeah." I said sighing and getting up as Shawn did the same.

"Thank you for today." I told Shawn as began walking back home.

"No problem," he shrugged his shoulders

We stopped in my driveway. The light was on in my mom's room which meant she was home.

Shawn stepped in front of me and said, "I had fun."

"Me too." I said looking up with a smile.

His smile slowly faded as he leaned in closer to me. He brushed his lips across mine as if he was asking for permission. I ran my fingers through his hair as he kissed me passionately. The kiss sent fireworks through my body. His hands traveled from my waist to my face. We eventually had to pull away for air.

He rested his forehead against mine with a small smile as he looked into my eyes. The lingering feeling made my heart race. Who knew the boy that just moved in next door would do this to me.

I've been using this 30 day workout app and it's kicking my ass tbh. I'm working on Abs & Legs right now and I'm about to die but at least I'll die with a decent looking body
