"What are your plans tonight?" His brown eyes studied the white puffy clouds in the light blue sky.

"Nothin really," I shrugged, "I'll probably just catch up on Netflix or read some." I answered.

"Well since it doesn't sound like you'll be too busy," Shawn said with the corner of his lips curving into a smile, "you should go see a movie with me."

"I should?" I looked over at him with raised eyebrows and a small smile.

"You should." He said tilting his head up to look at me.

"Depends on if I can get cookie dough bites," I said resting my head in the palm of my hand.

"You can't go to a movie without getting cookie dough bites." Shawn said making me laugh.

"Well in that case," I smiled, "I'll go."

"Popcorn and cookie dough bites." Shawn said to the woman behind the counter. She nodded and tapped the screen. Shawn paid even though I told him I could since he paid for the movie, but he insisted.

"Thank you." I said once we sat down in the velvety seats.

"You're welcome." He said sitting the drink in the cup holder between us.

I felt my heart beat faster when he placed his hand next to mine. Shawn and I met a few months ago through a friend of ours. It was an instant connection. We have gone to places like the mall or out to eat, but I don't know if they are considered dates or just a friend hang out. I like Shawn a lot, but I don't know if he likes me in the same way.

"I don't know why I let you talked me into seeing a scary movie." I said shaking my head.

"Because they are the best to see in theaters." He said before clearing his throat.

The horror movie started and Shawn and I's focus turned to the screen. I got through the first 30 minutes without a single jump-scare, but towards the end I was practically in Shawn's arms.

"You're such a scaredy cat." Shawn whispered in my ear.

"Shut up," I said playfully slapping his chest causing him to laugh lightly. Shawn's large hand found its way to mine.

He slowly intertwined them making my stomach fill with butterflies. I tried to hide my smile the best I could. I laid my head on his shoulder and continued watching the movie.

"That was a good movie." I said the cool night air welcoming me as I walked through the door Shawn was holding for me.

"Your eyes were shut the whole time." Shawn said laughing a little.

I gasped, "no they were not, I watched like 96% of the movie with my eyes opened." I said looking over at him.

"Yeah okay." He said sarcastically we both hopped into his Jeep.

"Shawn peter Raul Mendes if you're planning to kill me I swear I will come back and haunt your ass." I said as Shawn parked in the middle of nowhere.

Shawn's laugh filled my ears as he pulled the key out of the ignition, "I'm not going to kill you. If I was going to do that I would of done that a while ago." He said making me laugh as I opened the car door.

I followed Shawn through the damp grass to a certain spot. The warm candle light glow made it visible to see that there was a flannel print blanket and my favorite thing of all time, chocolate covered strawberries. I looked at the set up in awe.

"Shawn," I said with the biggest smile on my face.

"Welcome to our somewhat of a picnic." He said plotting himself down on the blanket before taking a chocolate covered strawberry and biting into it.

"This is amazing." I said sitting down beside him. I tilted my head back to gaze up at the twinkling stars. I shivered as the cool wind blew.

"Here take this," Shawn said taking off his gray sweatshirt revealing his black t-shirt underneath.

"Shawn you'll freeze." I said shaking my head.

"I'll be fine, you're literally turning into a ice cube as we speak." He said handing me the hoodie.

"Thank you." I said slipping the oversized sweatshirt over my head.

"You're welcome." He said turning his head slightly to look at me with a toothless smile.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked feelings a slight blush creep onto my cheeks.

"Because you are just so stunning." He said his voice soft and raspy.

I smiled and tried to hide my red cheeks, "thank you, but I'm really not." I said shaking my head and pushing a strand of hair behind my ear.

"Have I ever lied to you?" He asked making me look at him confused.

"No?" It came out as more of a question.

"So why would I call you stunning if you're not." He asked raising an eyebrow and smiling a smirk.

I laughed and shook my head a smile still evident on my lips.

Shawn and I finished the rest of the strawberries and laid down beside each other. Our eyes focused on the small lights above us in the clear night sky. Shawn's arm was wrapped around my body, my head rested on his chest.

"Y/n," my head vibrates against his chest when he spoke. I tilted my head up to look at him. His brown eyes met mine when he looked down at me, "I'm falling for you, and I know by saying that I might of just ruined everything, but I had to tell you. I couldn't keep this fro-," a sudden rush of courage filled my body. I crashed my lips onto his warm ones. He tensed up at first, but soon relaxed. His hand rested on the middle on my back, and his other hand cupped my cheek.

"I'm falling for you too." I said once we pulled away breathlessly. He smiled before kissing me again.
