"What do you think of this one?" I held up a silky red dress against my body as I waited for my friends response.

"It's cute, but the black one was better." She answered.

I nodded and turned on my heel go grab the black dress off the rack.

"So you're really not going to talk to Shawn?" She asked making me sigh.

"We've been over this Mary." I said opening the dressing room door.

"And we are going to go over it again. Y/n you guys need to talk. You have gone through too much together to just give up now. It's obvious you guys were like perfectly made for each other." Mary said from the other side of the dressing room door.

I rolled my eyes as I unzipped the skin tight dress to take off the hanger. "We ended for a reason, and besides even if I did want to talk to him, it would so awkward between us. It wouldn't be like the usual Shawn and I's conversation." I said taking off the clothing I was wearing.

"You don't know that." Mary said as I took off my ripped skinny jeans.

"I haven't talked to him in 6 months, we used to never be able to go more than an hour without talking to each other." I said pulling my hair to the side so I could attempt to zip up my dress.

"So this would be the perfect opportunity to talk to him." She said as I opened the dressing room door.

"Please zip this up for me," i said turning my back towards her, "and just because he's going to there tonight, does not mean I'm going to talk to him." I said shaking my head.

She zipped and I turned around, "so are you just going to avoid him?" She asked pushing her brown eyebrows together in confusion.

"Pretty much." I shrugged.

"Whatever let's get the dress and go. You have to be at the party in 2 hours." She said shaking her head with an annoyed look.

I sighed and walked back into the dressing room.

Loud music blared through the speakers making my head pound. Groups of people talking or dancing filled the rooftop. I made my way over to the bar.

"What would you like?" A man wearing a black button up dress shirt and had a white towel over his shoulder asked me.

"She'll have a martini," I froze when I heard the all too familiar deep voice. I slowly turned around to face him.

He smiled a smirk revealing his perfectly straight teeth and said, "that is if she hasn't changed her favorite alcoholic drink also."
