the cool night air surrounded me as tears ran down my cheeks. it was another night that i would spend at the abandoned park, crying silently in a swing covered with dew.

fear ran through me when i heard footsteps behind me. "y/n, are you okay?" i turn around when i hear the familiar voice. my heart starts to beat so loud that i can hear it in my ears.

"i'm fine."  i said turning back around and wiping my eyes with the sleeve of my hoodie.

"i know you are lying." he said as he sat his tall muscular figure in the swing beside me. i sniffled softly and looked down at my hands that were in my lap. i felt shawn's eyes on me.

"shawn, i'm okay." i said trying to convince him. he sighed and took his eyes off of me to look at something in the distance.

"i knew you would be here." he said kicking wood chips softly.

"how did you know?" i asked pushing my eyebrows together in confusion.

"i heard your parents fighting again, and figured you left. everything else in town is closed and plus i know you love to swing. when i saw your car here i had to make sure you were okay." shawn explained.

"why?" i asked letting my eyes focus on him. he didn't say anything for a while, so i just thought he didn't hear me.

"because i care about you y/n. in case you haven't noticed i'm crazy about you. i'm always thinking about you, and worried sick thinking you're not okay. hell, i drive half way across town to find you," he got out of the swing and ran his fingers through his hair as he paced in front of me. he finally stopped and looked in my eyes.

"shawn i-," i didn't know what to say. i jumped out of the swing and walked closer to him. his eyebrows pushed together in confusion as his eyes watched me leave a small space between us. i inched my face closer to his causing him to catch on and place his lips on mine.

his hands traveled down to my hips causing me to run my fingers through his hair. we pulled away breathlessly a few seconds after.

i'm glad he came.
