overdue

okay maybe just one more update ;)

i sighed as i looked up at my ceiling. the stinging pain in my chest just didn't seem to go away. why didn't he love me? what did i do wrong? was i not pretty enough? was i not good enough?

i shook my head in hopes to clear my thoughts. i turned on my side and looked out of my bedroom window. a few cars passed by and birds chirped as the flew by the glass. i was about to fall asleep when my phone rung.

"hello?" i said not even bothering to check who it was.

"hey y/n, are you okay?" his voice made my heart race.

"uh,"  I sat up in the bed and held the phone tighter in my hand, "Yeah, yeah I'm fine. why?" I asked pulled the comforter closer to my body.

"I was just making sure. you've just been distant these past few days." he said making me close my eyes tightly.

don't say it. don't you dare tell him. "well it kind of sucks when the person you're in love with doesn't love you back and always wants to hang out." why did i just say that.

he was silent for a few seconds making me want to curl into a ball and stay there for the rest of my life.

"i shouldn't of said anything." i shook my head and hung up the phone. i plopped it down beside me and let out a frustrated sigh and ran my fingers through my hair.

i should of just kept my mouth shut. it would of just been easier. now everything is going to be awkward between us. i rolled my eyes and got out of the bed. just as i was walking downstairs the doorbell echoed throughout the house.

i opened the door to see shawn standing there with his hands shoved in his pockets looking down at the ground. he immediately looked up and met my eyes.

"for 3 years I have been in love with you, and I'm sorry that I never told you." He said making me take a deep breath to try to calm my nerves as he stepped closer to me. his large warm hand cupped my cheek as he looked deeply into my eyes. his gaze fell to my lips before placing them on mine. i kissed him back passionately as i ran my fingers through his curly brown locks. this was long overdue.
