Inspired by me helping my aunt move ;)

So many cardboard boxes and rolls of tape were scattered every where. I had 3 weeks before I had to move out of my house, and I was beyond stressed. I took a drag off the cigarette in my hand and exhaled letting the smoke escape out of my mouth.
"I thought you quit smoking," I jumped when I heard the all too familiar voice.
"Shawn?" I turned my head to see my ex-boyfriend leaning against the sliding glass door's frame, "what are you doing here?" I asked putting the cigarette out in the ash tray.
"I came to get the rest of my things, I told you I was coming last night." Shawn said walking out onto the balcony. I had completely forgot about him coming by.
"Why are there boxes everywhere?" Shawn asked leaning over the wooden banister.
"I'm moving." I shrugged before getting another cigarette. I knew it was horrible for my lungs, but I was anxious and it was the only way to calm my nerves.
"Oh," Shawn said softly as he looked down at the passing cars below, "where to?" He asked.
"California." I said as I put the white cancer stick between my lips. Shawn pushed his eyebrows together and looked at my confused.
"Why so far away?" He asked pushing himself off the wooden railing.
"I want to go somewhere," I took a puff off the cigarette before continuing, "somewhere to start over, and get a fresh start. Plus there's no apartments available here." I shrugged and flicked the ashes into the ash tray.
A small silence fell between Shawn and I before I broke it.
"Your stuff is in the spare bedroom." I said putting the cigarette out and standing up. I walked into the master bedroom and sighed looking at all of the things that needed to be packed.
"Let me help you pack." Shawn said.
"No, I'm fine." I said taping the bottom of a box.
"really? Because it sure doesn't look like it." Shawn said crossing his arms over his chest.
"Shawn," I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair, "Help me clean out my closet."

"Hey I remember these," Shawn said causing me to look up. He had a smirk on his lips and black lacy underwear in his hands. I felt a blush creep onto my cheeks and I rolled my eyes. I yanked them out of his hands and put them in the almost full box.
Shawn pulled down a red skintight dress that I hadn't worn in a while.
"You wore this on our 1 year anniversary date." Shawn said smiling a little.
"Yeah," I sighed and took the dress from his hands, "that was a fun night." I said running my hands over the silky material.
"Yeah, it was." Shawn said looking down at his hands with a grin. He licked his lips and took a deep breath before grabbing more clothes to hand me.
"I can't believe you still have this?" Shawn asked pulling out a maroon vans hoodie. He had given it to me before he went on his first tour.
"Duh, it's my favorite sweatshirt." I said putting it in the box. I didn't realize that it was weird until Shawn said something.
"You're going to keep it?" He asked confused.
"I mean," my cheeks were turning red, "unless you want it back." I said handing it back to him.
"No, no keep it," He said pushing it back, "besides it looks good on you." I felt my heart race but I just ignored his compliment and tried to focus.
