*Still Your POV*
I woke up to 2 pairs of arms wrapped somewhat around me. Julian and Ethan. I smiled and carefully lifted myself off the bed, trying my hardest not to wake either of them.
I picked up my phone and went downstairs. I sat down on the couch and went on my phone. I had 37 missed calls and 7 texts. All were from Gloria.
(G is Gloria, Y is Y/n)
G - Y/n, please call me.
G - Why aren't you answering?
G - Is everything ok?
G - Just call me, please.
G - I'm worried.
G - Did the surgery go well?
G - Y/n, I'm so sorry.
I decided to call Gloria, just to make sure she was ok.
G - Finally! You've called! I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have texted you so many times. I just wanted to know the results of the surgery. He's with God, now.
Y - Gloria, what are you talking about? Ethan's not dead, the surgery went well. He's just having some breathing issues so we have to have regular checkups.
G - Oh my god! I thought he'd gone. I'm so relieved! Wait, if the surgery went well, why didn't you call me?
Y - I'm sorry, Gloria. I should've. Julian and I were so overwhelmed. As soon as we got home, we took Ethan and we all just had some family time. I didn't even think to check my phone, or to call anyone. I just wanted to spend time with my son.
G - It's ok, y/n. Look, I'm just glad that Ethan's ok. I'll talk to you soon.
Y - You too.
I put my phone down. I sat and thought for a little while. About how life would be if Ethan had gone. I knew I'd hate it, you know, if Ethan wasn't here.
But hearing how upset Gloria sounded because she thought Ethan died made me realise how lucky we are. Because if he had left us for good, our worlds would've been turned upside down.
I got up and went back upstairs. I went into the bedroom. Julian was lying on his back. Ethan was on Julian's chest, sleeping. I smiled at the sight of them.
"Morning, my beautiful boys." I said, as I walked over to the bed. I got under the covers and kissed Julian's cheek. He smiled.
"Morning. Where were you?" Julian asked.
"I went downstairs for a little while. I spoke to your mom." I said. He looked at me with wide eyes.
"What did she say?" He asked, interest in his voice.
"Well, she was calling me all night but I didn't know because I wasn't on my phone. She thought Ethan had passed so I just told her that he's ok." I said. He nodded.
"So, do you have any plans for today?" He asked. I shook my head. He smirked.
"Good, because the second season of Stranger Things came out and we need to watch it." He said. I laughed.
*Julian's POV*
Today was a good day. I liked days like these. Watching Netflix, no phones, being with my girlfriend and my son. I was at ease, it was like the world had stopped causing all this trouble just so I could have a moment of peace.
Ethan ended up falling asleep on y/n's chest, as usual 😂. I kissed his forehead and picked him up. I carried him to his room and placed him in the crib.
"Goodnight, Angel." I said, kissing his cheek. I left the room and went back to y/n, who was on her phone.
"What are you doing?" I asked, flopping down next to her on the bed. She sighed.
"Researching." Y/n replied, a hint of frustration in her voice.
"Is everything ok?" I asked.
"I'm having issues. With... the breastfeeding. I want to do it but it's taking up so much of my life. I constantly have to pump, I can't wear deodorant because it will affect Ethan. It's a mess!" She said.
"Look, you don't have to breastfeed if you don't want to. We can always just feed him using a formula." I said.
"But, I don't want to. It's healthier to breastfeed. I want to make sure that he's the healthiest he can be, that his IQ is high, that his growing pace is the same as the average baby. I don't want him to be behind on it all." She said.
"And he won't be. Carry on with the breastfeeding if you think it will help. I think you should. Soon, you won't have to anymore and I'll bet that you'll miss the days." I said, with a chuckle. She cracked a smile.
"That's something I've always loved about you." She said. I gave her a weird look.
"What are you talking about?" I asked. She playfully rolled her eyes.
"Whenever there's a problem, you always make it better, even with the worst situations." She said. I smiled.
"Listen, tomorrow, I want a family day out. Just you, me, and the baby. We don't need to post anything, we don't need to be on our phones the whole time, we just need to have some time together as a family." I said. She smiled.
"I love the sound of that, Julian." She said. She sounded a little off.
"Y/n, is everything ok?" I asked. She took a deep breath.
"I don't know if this is a bad thing or not, but I've been finding it really hard to sleep. I just keep picturing Ethan on that operating table. It's tearing me apart." She said. I wrapped an arm around her.
"Y/n, don't. I know it's going to be hard, but just imagine him in your arms instead of on that table. This happens a lot, whenever something traumatic happens, it will constantly replay itself in your mind. You just have to learn to ignore it." I said. She nodded.
"Thanks for the advice." She said.
"Goodnight, babycakes." I said, lightly pecking her lips.
"Goodnight, cutie." She said, roughly kissing me.
We had a small makeout session before pulling the covers over ourselves and drifting off to sleep.
