( BUG HE'S A BULLY )
by certifiedskywalker

"I still," Jughead shook his head, "I just don't get it." You let out a groan as your friends continued to stare at you. You glanced over at Kevin who busied himself with his apple juice to ignore your gaze. He was the one that started all of this. You turned back to Jughead.

"There's nothing get," you said, picking at the food on your tray. Jughead let out a forced laugh and shook his head once more. You glanced up at him, trying to convey your annoyance.

"But he's a bully, Y/N," Jughead said, his voice a little louder than before. You saw Archie, the only one who had remained silent since the reveal, flinch at Jughead's words.

"He's not that bad Jughead. He's slowly turning around." Archie said, trying his best to defuse the situation. Jughead was as stubborn as ever. He was about to snap that the redhead when Betty rested a soft hand on his shoulder.

"There's bad blood between you and Reggie but that doesn't mean she can't see good in him." Jughead gave Betty a dramatic look.

"I'm not defending him Juggie," Betty added, "he is horrible to you. I'm defending Y/N's love life." The blonde girl's words seemed to relax Jughead a little. His gaze lifted from her face to yours once more, giving you an unreadable look.

"But what do you see in him?" Everyone head's turned the direction of Kevin's voice. You glared at him as Veronica made her way towards the lunch table.

"Why is everyone looking at Kevin like he kicked a puppy?" Veronica sat down next to you as she asked.

"Y/N is dating Reggie Mantle, Kevin was the weary messenger," Jughead said grimly. Veronica's hand rested against her chest as she turned to look at you. Shock rested on her features, with a hint of disappointment.

"The football player? He seemed sketchy to me," Veronica said after calming down a bit; but now it was your turn to get mad. You let out a loud groan and sat up from the table. You grabbed the food tray and walked to drop it off. You pulled your phone out, clicking on the conversation you had with Reggie the night before.

you : Meet up?

Reggie :) : sure babe. lounge?

you : Sounds good. See you in a few.

You smiled down at your phone and walked in the direction of the lounge. The hallways are empty, it being lunch period. You sped over to the lounge door, gently pushing it open. The lights were off inside, but when you walked inside they turned on.

You smiled when you saw Reggie walk through the other entrance, across the room. You let out a giggle at the cliche scene as you both started to walk towards each other. You met in the middle of the room and you rested your head against his chest when he was close enough. His arms wrapped around you securely, holding you to his warmth.

"What's up," he asked after a moment. You just buried your face deeper into his chest, trying to block out the words of your friends. His arms tightened around you and he pressed his lips to the top of your head gently.

"My friends found out about us." You felt Reggie's shoulders sag a little. You pulled back, just enough to look into his soft brown eyes. "They didn't react very well."

"It doesn't matter what they think," Reggie said softly, "we are the only ones involved in this relationship. Our feelings are the only ones that matter." His hand went to your cheek and caressed it softly. You leaned into his touch, smiling gently.

"That was very wise," you teased and Reggie grinned.

"But it is odd," you raised an eyebrow at his words, "someone like you, an amazing person, with someone like me. I'm very unworthy." You laughed and shook your head.

"You're pretty amazing yourself Mantle," he smiled at your words.

You held his gaze for a silent moment. You had started not too long ago, so only kisses on the cheek had been exchanged thus far. With this closeness, you didn't know how long you could last without knowing how his lips tasted. It seemed Reggie couldn't wait too long either as his gaze shifted down to your lips and back to your eyes, his gaze conveying a question. You nodded and leaned up on your tippy toes, softly brushing your lips to his. Reggie pressed tentatively, but then kissed you sweetly. His finger tips went to your jaw line, slightly under your chin to draw you closer. His lips parted against yours to speak.

"Yeah," he mumbled, "your friends can-" You cut off his sentence with another kiss. As soon as your pressed your lips to his again, he started to laugh. You giggled, pulling away smiling.

"You're cute," he said, smiling widely as you laughed. His hand, which still lingered on your face, caressed your cheek. You felt a hot blush rise to your face and your smile grew a little more. You opened your mouth to speak but the bell cut you off. You let out a groan and Reggie smiled gently.

"Until next time baby," he said with a grin. Reggie leaned down and pressed a kiss to your cheek. He walked off towards the way he came and you left the lounge to head off to your next class. As you walked through the crowded halls, you bit your bottom lip to suppress another smile.

"You look happy," you turned and saw Betty fall into step beside you. "Happier than before. Sorry about Jughead by the way." You shook your head and let your smile show through.

"It's fine," you said, "I-uh, thought it over and I know that nothing will change the way I feel about Reggie. Not even your sleuth boyfriend." Betty smiled and blushed at your words.

"I'm glad you're happy Y/N." You nodded and glanced around the hallway. Your eyes landed on Reggie, talking to Archie at his locker. He glanced up, holding your gaze with a smile. You smiled back at your boyfriend, replaying your shared moments in your head. Archie looked up, saw you and looked back at Reggie with a grin. So what if some of your friends were against you and Reggie? Like Betty said, you were happy and that's all that mattered.
