( HALLWAY AGREEMENT
by buckys-fossils

"So my foot's totally stuck in there, right? I'm freaking out, the dog's having a seizure and I still got half a pie left–"

"What's with these strange stories you always have to tell, Y/N?" Veronica interjected, furrowing her thick dark eyebrows.

You giggled at her side comment, continuing along your ways inside the student lounge to meet up with the rest of the squad. Betty, Archie and Kevin were all sat together, chatting about who knows what even though it seemed like Archie was completely zoned out, most likely daydreaming as he twisted a piece of his ginger hair with his fingertips.

The second you took one step into the lounge, your smile immediately faltered, and scowled at the sight of no other than Reggie Mantle. He turned his gaze, and soon enough his infamous smirk plastered itself across his face, wiggling his eyebrows.

"Nice wig, Y/N, what's it made out of?" he chuckled, folding his arms across his chest.

"Your mom's chest hair!" you responded angrily, scowling at him once more as you rolled your eyes far back.

"It's good to see you, too, kid." He winked, lightly massaging your shoulders and playfully smacked your upper back as he finished shortly after.

"You know, if I didn't know either of you, I would've totally thought you hated each other," muttered Jughead, shaking his head. "It kind of scares me."

"Good, because you should be scared." you joked, shooting him a playful wink.

"Alright, well, duty calls," Reggie sighed, grabbing his letterman jacket. "I will see you all later."

"Bye, Reggie!" you called out, waving him goodbye.

"Bye, Reggie!" Archie mocked in a ridiculous high pitched voice, laughing along with Jughead and Veronica.

"What was that for?!"

"Oh come on, Y/N, cut me some slack here," whined Archie. "Mantle and you are totally into each other."

You scoffed, "You're joking right? I have no feelings for him, gross."

Veronica laughed, "And you are the worst liar in the world. I mean, I see the way you look at each other, and I definitely see a little love connection going on." She winked, pointing her two fingers towards you and the spot Reggie last sat on.

"She's right, and plus I don't know if you have ever really noticed, but there's times where I just think that Reggie practically undresses you with just his eyes." added Kevin, raising his eyebrows.

"Will you guys stop? I do not have feelings for Reggie," you replied defensively. "Besides, he's the complete opposite of me anyway."

"Ever heard the term, opposites attract?" Archie questioned, leaning himself back against the couch with a raised brow.

You snorted, "Yes, Archie. I've heard it plenty of times, but I'm still not into Mantle."

"Ugh, you're so complicated," Veronica groaned, grabbing her purse. "One of these days though, you'll totally come to your senses about your feelings for the guy."

"And you'll totally thank me for it." she added.

"Never gonna happen, Ronnie."

"If you say so," She rolled her eyes, and flipped her hair back confidently as she made her out of the lounge with her heels clicking along the way.

"Coming to practice after school?" Betty inquired.

"You know it, Betts."

She giggled, "Alright, catch you guys later then!"

"Bye, Betty!"

"Would you seriously kiss Reggie for 100$?" Jughead asked curiously, leaning against the locker next door to yours.

You released a sigh as you placed your Chemistry book back into your locker. "Jughead, can we please stop with the Reggie questions? I only told you I don't have feelings for him."

Jughead rolled his eyes, adjusting his crown-shaped beanie. "Come on, I wasn't born yesterday."

"I don't know, Jug, seems like you were to me," you quipped with a laugh. "Enough with Reggie, Jughead. Or else I will throw you into a trash can myself."

He snorted, "Please, like that'll ever happen."

"Oh really?" you challenged, taking a step closer to him, causing him to widen his eyes in horror.

"On second thought."

"But you know what," you mentioned, staring into Jughead's eyes. "I would actually pay 100$ to kiss him."

Jughead burst into a fit of laughter, shaking his head in disbelief. "You're serious?"

"Oh I'm dead serious."

"You'd seriously pay that much just to kiss me, Y/N?" Reggie asked unexpectedly, causing you to squeal in panic.

"You could just do it for free instead, you know." he also added with a raised brow.

Jughead smirked, patting your shoulder as he walked off. "I'll leave you two alone then."

You glared at Jughead as he left, wanting nothing more than to strangle him for leaving you alone with the douchebag moron even though the two of you had actually developed somewhat of a friendship over the past few months. Well, more like a love-hate type.

You sighed, turning on your heel to face the dark haired man. His chocolate brown eyes peered down into yours, his smirk evident. He stepped closer until your chests pressed against one another.

"What's it to you, Mantle? I know you have plenty of other girls to be with right now anyway."

He chuckled, "Nope, you're completely wrong about that actually."

"I-I am?"

"Mhm," he nodded. "As a matter of fact, I only have one girl I want to be with right now."

"And who would that be, huh?" you questioned, placing your hand on your hip.

"You."

Before you were able to respond, Reggie smashed his lips against yours in a needy, yet surprisingly heartwarming kiss. Immediately, you melted into his warm embrace and tangled your fingers in his dark locks. He smiled into the kiss, wrapping his arms around your waist to pull you closer towards his body. Quietly, he groaned into your mouth as soon as he felt you pull slightly on to his hair.

The need for oxygen abruptly overwhelmed you, pulling away from the kiss as your breaths mingled together. Reggie's arms unfolded from your waist, and tucked a piece of loose hair behind your ear, his hand brushing against your cheek.

"Turns out I didn't even have to pay a single penny to kiss you after all, Reggie."

"What do you say you and I share a milkshake later today at Pop's?" he offered, smiling brightly, which was slightly odd since you were so used to seeing him smirk almost all the time.

"Hm, what's the catch?"

He chuckled, "Let's just say none for now, although I will say there can be lots of making out afterwards if you're up for it." He shrugged.

"Sign me the fuck up then, Mantle!" you cheered, lacing his fingers against your own as the two of you walked beside each other the whole way throughout the hallway.

As soon as you passed by the student lounge, you could've swore you heard the entire gang cheering you on.
