Noah must've been desperate to come to and ask if I would babysit tonight, he knew I wasn't good with kids and he knew me and Troix really didn't get along... but everyone else was busy; Cori and them were in Austin, Marquise and Ace were on a double date with some girls they met at the twin's birthday party, Uncle Khalil and Uncle Marcus were up in Pittsburgh handling some of Michelle's business.... so I was really the last option, well me and Lauren who was sitting on the couch looking annoyed. If I wasn't low on cash I would've told them no but since he was paying I had no problem watching Troix and Jakari for a few hours and with Lauren here hopefully it wouldn't be too bad. I checked my phone and saw that I had a text from Norelle and Dani..... look me and Danielle were just friends and even though her and my girl got into a little altercation I had no problem with Danielle, after I was shot she reached out and wanted a clean slate and life was too short to be holding grudges. There was a quiet knock at the door and Noah walked in with Troix and Jakari..... Troix with that evil little grin on his face and Jakari standing there nervously.
"Where are the twins?" I asked hoping like hell I wasn't going to have all four.
"They're coming with me and Jade, we gotta drive down to Corpus Christi to check on Jade's mom we should be back later tonight or early tomorrow morning. They've already eaten and taken their baths so all you gotta do is put them to sleep, oh and under no circumstance should you give them any candy especially Jakari.... he may be quiet now but the second he has even a single piece of candy he'll be bouncing off the walls and you know how Troix is.... I'll see y'all in a little bit." Noah said pushing both Troix and Jakari's head gently and walking out, as soon as Noah was gone Troix turned to me and gave me an innocent smile.
"Y'all wanna watch cartoons?" I asked and Troix took off running and started jumping on the couch, he better be lucky my mom was gone or else she'd whoop his little ass. "Troix get down." I said and Troix looked at me for a second before getting off the couch, walking over to me and punching me in the leg. "You little....."
"Fight bitch....." Troix said as he continued to punch me in the leg, I grabbed him by the ankle and hung him upside down. "I'm sorry....." He said laughing as I put him down on his feet. I looked at Jakari who was still standing in the same spot.
"Wassup Jakari you wanna watch a movie or play the game?" I asked because he seemed a little scared, he nodded slightly and walked over to the couch and sat down. "You aight?" I asked and he shrugged.
"He's nervous.... image being somewhere for the first three or four years of your life then being thrown into another situation, he's not used to being around us.... give him a few months he'll be just as crazy as the rest of us." Lauren said picking Troix up.
"I honestly can't look at Jade the same after finding out that shyt...." I said quietly. "I mean what kind of woman would hide her child for all these years, so not only did she cheat on Noah, but then she let Uncle Khalil convince her to give up her child.... I don't respect it." I said making sure Troix and Jakari weren't listening, but they were focused on quite possibly the greatest movie of all time, The Lion King.
"Jade has her reasons that go far deeper than Noah..... you wouldn't understand because you're not around Jade as much as I am..... she has her reasons and after listening to them I get it. Trust me I was just as pissed as you were when I found out but when I actually talked to Jade about what happened.... I get it and I don't blame her." Lauren said looking down at her phone and rolling her eyes.
"Why is that nigga Migùel calling you? You want me to handle that nigga?" I asked.
"Please, I don't need you or any male handling anything for me..... but Migùel is harmless." Lauren said and I could tell she was trying not to smile.
