There was something in the air, I couldn't quite put my finger on it but it felt ominous and inevitable, the calm before the hurricane, a winter wonderland that turns into a frozen wasteland.... it felt different and not in a good way. That's probably why I decided to have a 'family day' so to speak; me, Kylan, Quinn, Cortez, and Bishop, I just wanted to have one drama-free day before I went on my business trip..... Quinn seemed to be having a blast and I was happy to see my baby girl having a good time, my mentor taught me that I needed to keep my daughter as far away from my other lifestyle as possible so most of the time she was with my parents so the few moments I got to spend with her were a blessing. I looked over at Kylan and tried not to laugh yeah he was still pissed at me because was under the impression that we would be doing something else considering that this may be the last time we see each other... but I we could get to that later, besides I liked him better angry.
"Quamir is it really necessary for us to be split up?" Kylan asked and I shrugged honestly it wasn't my call, Saint had been working overtime to convince everyone in his family that separating was the best move and some people went for it while others actively resisted, I trusted Saint a hundred percent but I didn't like the idea of him being the only person who knew where everyone would be hidden..... for the most part.
"What you're not excited about traveling all over Europe with your favorite cousin?" I asked smiling, Kylan and Trinity would be together heading to Europe but I wasn't sure of their exact destination.
"Trinity is excited.... I guess it'll be fun, I just don't feel comfortable leaving Cortez, Saint seemed amused by his hiding spot for Cortez, JD, and Jayvion. But I'm really worried about you.... why can't Saint send Smoke?" Kylan asked quietly and I knew the answer to that question but I really couldn't say why because Smoke had his own 'mission' so to speak. "Quamir promise me you'll be careful..... last time you went to 'work' you came back with a huge gash across your stomach, I'm just worried that I won't see you again."
"Ky it's a simple in and out job, I won't be doing anything too crazy, my main concern is you and my daughter, but I know y'all will be alright.... two weeks at the most before we can see each other again." I said looking into his eyes, I started leaning forward to kiss him but my daughter ran over to me to show me that she finally mastered the cartwheel. "Good job princess....." I said smiling. "Y'all ready to eat?" I asked as Cortez and Bishop finished their walk around the park, they nodded and I looked at Kylan who was still pissed... yeah I had a lot of making up to do whenever we got some time to ourselves.
After a quiet dinner, I dropped Quinn off to my parents and of course she cried until I told her I'd bring her back a unicorn, we dropped Cortez and Bishop off at JD's house and I didn't have to guess to know what they were up to before driving to my house. Kylan didn't say a single word the entire ride and I felt bad that we were in this situation.....
"Kylan.... do you remember when we first met?" I asked and I could see he was trying his hardest not to smile. "That shyt isn't funny Ky, I was ready to kill that nigga right there on the spot... he better be lucky he had that gun in his hand otherwise I would've beaten his ass... but that's not the important part; as I was walking out of the bathroom I noticed something in your eyes that just pulled me in.... and even though I didn't know you were my boss's cousin, I felt a connection to you that was just...." Kylan pushed me up against the wall and started kissing me, like always his lips tasted like honey and I was addicted.
"Let's go upstairs...." Kylan whispered quietly and I scooped him up in my arms, however as soon as we got to the first step there was a loud knocking on the door and Kylan let out an aggravated groan.
"I'll be up there in a second....." I said and Kylan rolled his eyes and walked upstairs. I opened the door to find Sa'vion, Saint, Mario, and Juelz all standing outside and I knew they were here to talk business. "Damn is it time already?" I asked and Saint nodded. "Fuck....aight.... look Kylan is upstairs so well have to go to the basement." I said leading them downstairs to my Bat-Cave.
