The weight of what had just happened crash down on me and I almost broke down, but I couldn't cry because crying wouldn't get Troix back and crying wouldn't bring back.... damn I didn't even know dudes name even though he had been looking after me for a while now. I needed to figure out my next move, I wanted to go after Troix but I couldn't just leave ol'boy laying here in the middle of the park.... but the most important thing at the moment was calling someone and letting them know what was going on and since Cam was the closest I figured it'd be best to call him.... plus I was terrified to call Noah. Before I could pull out my phone and call Cam, however, a woman with her two kids came strolling through the park, fuck..... this shyt looked suspect as fuck be covered in blood and a dead body like six feet away from me. Our eyes met and I saw the fear building her eyes as she started trying to piece together what she was seeing, then she quickly grabbed her children and took off back the way she had came.... fuck now really needed to call Cam because there wasn't a doubt in my mind that the police would be arriving any second.
"Dad...." I said quietly before everything came rushing out, I honestly didn't know if he understood a word I was saying but within two minutes he was pulling up to the park with Lauren right behind him.
"Cori.... remain calm and don't say a word." Cam said and at first, I was confused until I heard the sirens, the next few minutes were a blur I just remember them pulling up and handcuffing me, then throwing me into the back seat of their cruiser. It seemed like time was moving at warp speed and at a total standstill, as dusk turning into the blackest night then I felt relief or fear wash over me as Aunt Tonya walked over to the thirty officers and they seemed almost frightened.
"Cori tell the officers your version of events." Aunt Tonya said and told them everything that happened. "Which is exactly what y'all saw on the video, the only question now is why is he still in handcuffs?" Aunt Tonya asked and they scrambled around trying to release me. "Cori don't say anything else until we get to the house." Aunt Tonya said and I nodded, I was covered in blood and in desperate need of a shower, but my determination to find my nephew outweighed all of that.
"Does Noah and Jade know yet....." I asked Aunt Tonya quietly but she walked off and continued yelling at some detectives. I got in Cam's car with Lauren and the entire drive to the house she was silent, but I could feel her anger burning through my skin. We got to the house and the only car in the driveway was Uncle Marsean's, walked into the house and he instantly grabbed me and dragged me to the bathroom.
"It doesn't like too bad.... you may need a couple stitches I'll call Blaze and have him stitch you up." Uncle Marsean said. "Cori, I know you feel ashamed but there wasn't too much you can do, I'm just happy that there were cameras in that park otherwise I don't wanna think about what happened." Uncle Marsean said and before I could respond I heard someone running down the hall and my heart rate began to quicken as Noah stepped into the bathroom still wearing his uniform, his eyes were red and I just knew he was about to beat my ass he stepped towards me and I held his gaze trying my hardest to see through the tears that were forming in my eyes.
"Are you alright?" Noah asked grabbing my face gently and examining my face. "It's just a scratch, clean yourself up so we can go find my son." Noah said in a very calm voice but I knew on the inside he was raging.
"Noah..... I'm so fuckin sorry......" I said crying because I knew he blamed me.
"Don't do that Cori.... we're going to get Troix back and I'm going to deal with the people who did this, I'm just glad your little ugly ass is alright. I gotta go talk to dad because he's getting himself worked up and with his heart problems......" Noah said walking out of the bathroom and all I remember is that he was probably going to kill me in my sleep.
