Chapter 27

Madelaine's POV
Jace and I are running back to the institute when suddenly Jace groans and stops a bit clutching onto his arm

"Jace what's wro-" I get cut off when a major pain in my ribs come and I know it isn't my pain. Its Izzy's

I clutch onto my ribs and wince in pain as Jace gets up. "Alec. He got hurt in the arm" Jace says and looks at me finally realizing me clutching my sides

"Izzy too lets hurry up before this gets worse" I say and we begin to run pushing past the pain.

We enter and I run in the direction my body is leading me, towards my parabatai.

I see Izzy groaning on the floor Alec standing above her with a bleeding arm. Hodge trying to clean Alec's wound and a dead forsaken on the floor

I rush over to Izzy and Alec helping her up. "You guys ok?" I say wrapping an arm around Izzy being careful with her ribs and placing a hand on Alec's shoulder

"Im fine I just got pushed roughly to the floor and think I broke a few ribs. Alec got bitten by the forsaken though" Izzy speaks up and I quickly take my stele out running it over her iratze rune

Once she heals she leans on the chair next to Alec while I stand in front of him interrupting his conversation with Jace

"Does it hurt?" I ask and he opens his mouth to speak but a voice interrupts him

"I think it does because he keeps moving. Alec stop squirming" Hodge says and I chuckle a little

"I'm not it doesn't even hurt." Alec says bluntly and I gently poke his wound causing him to hiss and glare at me

"Doesn't hurt huh? Also fix that attitude towards me!" I say and he rolls his eyes showing more attitude.

"Did you just roll your eyes at me after I told you not to give me attitude?" I say placing a hand on my hip

He rolls his eyes again and looks me dead in the eyes. "Yes." Ok I love him but I hate attitude so I flick him on the head and speak up

"Your sleeping alone tonight. No cuddle buddy." I say poking his wound again causing him to hiss het again before walking out hearing Alec groan in annoyance while everyone else laughs.

I decide to make my way to my room knowing that if i wait enough for Hodge to be done that Alec will come in here like a lost puppy

When I open my door I scrunch my nose up in disgust. It stinks. What did i let die in here?

I always have my room cleaned to perfection. What could that be? All of a sudden I hear shuffling in the direction of my bathroom and I pull my seraph blade out

At that moment two forsakens jump out and I slash at one but it doesn't seem to affect it very much because he just kicks my weapon away

How are these forsakens so strong? And intelligent? This isn't normal.

I'm brought of my thought when I'm thrown against the room my head landing roughly on my mirror. I feel slightly dizzy and can't help the scream that bubbles out of me when one of them bites me on the shoulder.

I trash against it but it doesn't move. After it releases me it throws me over his shoulder and begins to walk towards a hole in my wall that I didn't even notice.

I couldn't fight back though. I was too weak. Right when I thought that they were going to succeed my door bursts open and Alec,Izzy,Jace and Hodge come in

The forsaken holding me throws me to the floor causing me to land roughly on my arm making me cry out

"Madelaine!" a voice yells but it seems distant. There is a ringing in my ears and my vision is turning slightly blurry.
