Chapter 45

Madelaine's POV
I wake up due to the sunlight shining directly into my eyes.
I groan a bit out of annoyance and my hand feels around next to me only to find an empty space

My eyes open and I frown seeing as though Alec wasn't there. I sit up stretching a bit before patting down my hair.

After a while of staring off into space I decide it was best to get up and get ready for the day

I needed another distraction so demon hunting sounded perfect for once

My feet make contact with the cold floor and I hiss a bit before padding to the door not bothering to pick up my shoes and jacket

I will come back later anyways

I then walk to my room getting ready by showering and changing as well as of course brushing my teeth and hair

After I was done I walk into the kitchen to find Jace and Isabelle laughing about something as Jace was preparing something

"I better get some" I speak up and Jace gives me a quick glance smiling at me before I walk to Izzy giving her a quick hug

"Hey have any of you seen Alec?" I ask and they shakes their heads as I frown a bit before Izzy looks at something and smirks

"Right here love" I hear a deep voice whisper directly into my ear as two arm wrap themselves around me

"You jerkface" I pout turning around to look at him as he gives me a look of confusion but yet amusement was still in his eyes

"Why?" He chuckles and I cross my arms over my chest trying to act mad

"I woke up to an empty bed" I pout again and he chuckles leaning down giving me a quick peck on the lips

"Do you know how many times I have woken up to an empty bed because of you?" He says and I shrug wrapping my arms around him as he suddenly looks up

" I want some food too!" He suddenly speaks like a five year old and I laugh stepping out of his hold

"I will be right back" I mumble before walking out the kitchen passing through the training room to look for Hodge

" Hey!" I hear a voice call and I turn around only to roll my eyes as I see Bella

"Yes?" I ask impatiently and she shakes her head. " You don't deserve Alec!" She says and I laugh

"Oh and let me guess you do?" I snort and she nods not seeming to understand sarcasm

" Yeah want to know why?" She asks stepping closer as I step closer as well glaring

"Enlighten me" I grit out and she laughs "because I don't have a monsters blood running through my veins" she says pausing as my heart sinks as I know where she is going with this

"Because I am not Valentine's daughter. I am not the one who is going to destroy everything unlike you. Your a monster just like Valentine. Like father like daughter I guess. Same goes to that cocky brother of yours" She laughs

That crossed the line

"Don't involve Jace into this" I grit out and she laughs "you mean the other monster who is in love with his oops both of yours sister. Your all monst-" She gets abruptly cut off by someone shouting

"Enough!” The voice yells making Bea freeze and tense up

" I told you to stay the hell away and this is what you do! Take a hint and go away!" I hear the voice say

Bella scoffs and before she leaves she turns

"I'm sorry that your soul is connected with her" She spats and i had enough as I lunge towards her

Bella's eyes widen but before I can attack someone holds me back. "It's not worth it. Come on Alec is worried" She says and I shake my head

" She deserves at least a punch" I say and the next words that come out of Bella's mouth actually effect me

" And you say your not his daughter. Look at you" She spats and I stop struggling against Izzy as the words Dawn upon me

What if I am?

I step out of Izzy's hold and take a few steps back. "Mads thats-" Izzy begins but I hold up a hand

"I just want to be alone right now" I whisper before sprinting off towards my room

The minute I get there I lock the door and sit on my bed. My eyes were filled with tears but they wouldn't fall out

I wouldn't let them.

I really am a monster

Alec doesn't deserve to he with me

After 10 minutes of debating whether or not to do this I decide it was for the best

Alec deserved better.
Not a monster.
Like me.

I wipe at my eyes to make sure no tears spilled out before making my way to the kitchen

Alec was there fidgeting with his food as Izzy and Jace sat with a blank expression

Upon seeing me Alec's eyes fill with relief making my heart hurt about what was going to happen next

"Mads!" He breathes out standing up and I smile weakly.

"Can I talk to you privately?" I ask and he nods as he takes my hand and leads me out the hallway

"What is it?" He ask and I take a big intake of air

"Alec I love you and I never will stop loving you" I begin and he smiles brightly

"I love you too" He says and I take another shaky breath

" All I want is for you to be happy. I want the best for you always" I say and he smiles again

"Same for you" He says and I look down as tears brim my eyes again

"Which is why I have to do this Alec. I am a monster and you. Your a perfect human being that is so good and amazing" I say and he frowns

"Mads don't tell me-" He begins but I cut him off

"I'm sorry Alec b-but I am breaking up with you" I say as a tear falls down my face
