Madelaine's POV
"Alec! What took you so long?" Izzy says and I look up at Alec smirking. "I had to take a shower" he grumbles out and Izzy looks extremely confused as she tilts her head to the side slightly and furrows her brows

"But you already had a shower" she says and Jace and I try our best to keep ourselves from laughing causing Alec to glare at us

"A cold shower Iz" he says with a blank face and Izzy soon bursts out laughing high fiving me before walking out with Jace

Alec still looks annoyed so I pout slightly throwing my arms around his neck. "Aww baby I'm sorry" I say and he chuckles slightly wrapping his arms dangerously low on my waist

"Don't worry I'll get you back" he whispers in my ear causing a shiver. I wink at him grinning. "Looking forward to it" I say before walking out to join Izzy and Jace leaving a groaning Alec behind me

We all walk to the police station. Clary meeting us there. Izzy and I are walking slightly more ahead of Alec and Jace

"I still can't believe my brother had to take a cold shower because of you!" Izzy laughs and I blush looking back at Alec who raises his eyebrows at me

"Izzy can we not talk about this right now." I groan out and she laughs again. "Fine but I want details later" she says and I see a flash of red from the corner of my eye

But when I look back nothing is there. I shrug it off. I am probably being paranoid. Suddenly I get a major headache

"Iz you keep going. I need a moment. Just got a major headache." I say and she nods continuing as I clutch my head leaning against the brick wall for support closing my eyes.

"Mads?" I hear Jace say and I open my eyes to see both him and Alec looking at me with worried expressions

"Go catch up with Izzy. I don't want her walking alone." I tell Jace who quickly does as told

"What's wrong love?" Alec says and I throw my head on his shoulder. "I just have a big headache" I whisper and he sighs

"Well we have to keep going." he says and just as I am about to get ready to walk again two arms gently lift me up and Alec places his hand underneath my back and legs letting my head lay on his chest

He carries me bridal style all the way to the police station. My headache vanishes and I let out a sign of relief.

"You can put me down now Alec" I say and he shakes his head. "No I like having you in my arms." he says and I blush and look over to Clary who is staring at us in awe.

Not being able to refrain myself I ask, "How's Simon?" Clary looks a bit bummed out by that but nevertheless she smiles a little

"He's as good as he can be. Still trying to wrap his head around the whole vampire thing" She says and Jace places a comforting hand on her shoulder causing her to look over at him

"I got the cards! Sorry I can't go with you but I have to get working on a case" Luke says quickly handing Clary the cards and going back in

"Ok lets go!" Izzy says and I let out a shriek as I am tackled to the floor and quickly move to the side as demon tentacles launch themselves at me

Before it can attack again it quickly vanishes and I look over to Alec who is putting his seraph blade away.

He lends his hand to me which I take with a grateful smile. "Are you ok?" he asks moving my hair out of my face and inspecting me for any injuries

"I'm fine thanks to you" I chuckle giving him a quick peck before turning around

"Looks like the there is still demons. We have to go through the back like we did last time." Jace says and we all nod
