Chapter 30

Madelaine's POV
I struggle against the mans arms trying desperately to escape but his arms are holding me down tightly.

"You can't make me choose!" Jace whispers and it hurts that he is thinking about this. Despite being trapped in someone's arms probably about to die I glare at Jace who avoids my gaze.

"I don't have all day!" The other guy holding Clary yells tightening his grip on her causing her to cry out in pain.

"STOP!" Jace yells but the guy places a blade to her throat. I look over to Alec and Izzy who are looking at me with worried eyes. They look like they are about to cry and the sight itself makes my heart break

'I love you' I mouth to them just as Jace squeaks out "Clary" I look over at him the hurt clear in my eyes. Those words hurt more than being tortured.

That's when I break down completely the tears flowing out my eyes like a river. Not because I am about to die but because Jace chose her over me. His own sister.

"NO! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" Alec yells at Jace but its too late. The guy holding Clary pushes her to Jace who catches her quickly.

That's when with the little strength I had left I trash around kicking my legs up and furiously shaking my head

"Hold her down! Now!" They yell and do exactly that. The guy that was holding Clary smirks at me dragging his seraph blade a few centimeters away from my head

Suddenly he picks my head up the floor before slamming it down forcefully causing a cry of pain to escape my lips

He then takes his seraph blade and slides it across my throat. Just as he is halfway done with slitting my throat a whip ties around his hand electricuting him and causing him to release his blade

Jace then jumps in and shoves his blade into the guys heart as the other circle members scurry off scared and the ones that stayed got an arrow in their heads.

It was then that I realized the small pool of blood forming around me. Then it hit me. I couldn't breath.

I feel like I'm drowning! I gasp and gasp to try to get an intake of air but it didn't work.

My lungs were on fire and I throw my hands up to my throat as the blood pours from the half slit

That's when Alec is crowding above me. I think he is saying something but I can't really hear him. I stare at him in confusion as my vision gets blurry.

He looks so panicked I just want to tell him that everything was going to be ok. But I couldn't. I was too weak and numb.

Just as my vision blurred completely and black dots began to appear I choke out an "I love you" before passing out entirely

Izzy's POV
Ignoring the pain coming from my throat I fall to my knees next to Alec who is frantically running his stele above Madelaine's iratze rune.

It didn't do anything thought as if the rune wasn't useful. "This isn't going to be enough. We need a warlock!" Alec says tears in his eyes.

That's when I stand up and walk over to Jace who is standing there looming at Madelaine frozen.

I punch him right in the face causing him to stumble back in surprise.
"THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!" I yell repeatedly punching him

That's when I knock him to the floor putting him into a headlock. "If my parabatai dies because of you so help me angels I will kill you!" I say lowly

Before any words can be spoken by him Alec interrupts picking Madelaine up gently.

"THIS ISNT TIME FOR FIGHTING SHE NEEDS HELP!" Alec yells and we all run as fast as we can

But not to the institute. To the high warlock of Brooklyn
