Chapter 29

Alec's POV
"Izzy I'm just saying this might not even be the cup" I say fusturated that I have to go on this mission. If anything I would prefer to stay with Madelaine in my room cuddling and talking.

When I see Jace my face crumbles as I realize he is wearing a guilty expression and Madelaine is missing.

"What the hell did you do?!?!?!?" I yell pushing him back a bit. "I yelled at her." he whispers

"What the hell did you tell her?!?!" I practically growl out. "She was saying stuff about Clary and I-I told her I didn't need her to be here." he whispers looking down

"You make me sick!" I yell and Izzy pushes me back a bit as I try to walk closer to him. "Alec don't."

"No Izzy! How could you?!? Choosing someone you barely even know over your own blood. Its like you don't even care about your family any more!!" I yell pushing him and he just stands there

"If anything happens to her because of this........" I trail off my tone dangerous.

"Lets just go" he says and I look at him shocked. " So your not looking for Madelaine." I say and he shakes his head

"She can take care of herself." he says and walks off. I follow after Izzy convinces me but I do keep on calling Madelaine on the phone

But she doesn't answer. Im still drilling holes into Jace's back as he goes inside the police department.

How dare he? Madelaine is hurt emotionally and is off by herself when Valentine is after her!!

Urghhh!!! I run my hands through my hair for the hundredth Time.
"Clary texted me. We have to shut off the power." she says and I reluctantly follow

After we did that we all run outside and that's when demons are all of a sudden surrounding us.

Great!! " over here!" Clary yells running down a flight of stairs.

So she can do something huh who would have thought

We break open a door and thats when we all make a run for it. But,luck isn't on our side as Izzy falls and clutches her head

She screams in pain and I kneel down next to her. "Izzy what's wrong?!" I ask gently

"My skull feels like it is being split in half but it isn't my pain it is Madelaine's" she groans out

That's when I pick her up in my arms and begin running again. What is happening to Madelaine?Once we are super close to the exit circle members jump out at us and one grabs Clary putting a seraph blade to her throat

Jace takes a threatening step forward. "Let her go!" he yells and the guy holding her laughs.

"Of course. If you want....." he trails off an evil gleam in his eyes. " but of course if I let her go then your sister dies" he laughs

I tense up at that and the guy laughs looking at me. "You must be the boyfriend!" he says and I glare at him

"Your lying!" Jace yells and the guy makes a motion with his hand. "Bring the girl in" he says and another guy comes in with an unconscious Madelaine in his arms

How dare he put his filthy hands on my girl. I will kill him

I clutch Izzy tighter in my arms as she tries to run forward.

" She isn't awake. How rude! Wake her up" the leader I'm guessing says.

The other guy smirks and punches Madelaine in the gut. She wakes up with a gasp and it takes everything in me to not run to her.

"Now Jace Wayland choose. Who will live and who will die. Clary Fairchild or Madelaine Wayland?"
