lxxii. DOMESTIC ABUSE BUT YOU'RE
THE ONE DOING IT TO YOURSELF.
you use people as medicine
overdose until your numb
you drink words of negativity
wondering why you can't remember your name
but you can't forget theirs
you shoot up pain into veins already too toxic to hold meaning
punch bruises
split yourself open.call your name but don't follow
break the shell of who you used to be
eat the ghost of no insecurity
cry yourself to sleep.tell me
how worthless you really feel
how tired your bones must be.stop lying
blame it on someone that
doesn't lay beside you.look in the mirror
ask yourself why you're still breathingquit asking god why
questioning how he'll accept your forgiveness
when the target is you
and you're the only one
aiming the bullet in the back of a gun
down the emptiness
of your mind.
